Lurline Bergeron was the first match I submitted. I submitted it basically off of what I saw as a resemblance between a photo of Lurline and an early sketch of Jane Doe.

Honestly, the resemblance could just be the similar facial expression, but I still thought it was worth submitting.

Darlene Tucker was the second match I submitted. I submitted it based on the fact that she and Jane Doe both have a scar above their right eyebrow (Darlene's is listed as 1" and Jane Doe's is listed as 3/4"), they both have a gap between their front teeth, their noses are shaped similarly, Darlene is within Jane Doe's height range, and Darlene is close to the same weight as Jane Doe. Darlene ran away from home in 1983, but there were confirmed sightings of her in 1985 and 1987.

The only things that don't add up are that Darlene would have been 3 years out of the age range at the time of Jane Doe's death, Darlene is white and Jane Doe is believed to have been Hispanic, Filipina, white or admixed. Darlene had dark brown hair and green eyes and Jane Doe had black hair and brown eyes.

Another possible match: Ariza Maria Estreya Olivares



Ariza was a resident of Mexico who was working as a live-in maid for a family in Texas. She went missing in February 1994. Her employer stated he dropped her off at the bus station. That was the last time she was seen. I included the links to information about Ariza's case below. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of info available in her case and the links I included below mostly contain the same information as one another.

I reached out to the agency handling Ariza's case and corresponded with a cold case detective. He was super nice. Unfortunately, they have no identifiers for Ariza (dentals, DNA, fingerprints) so a comparison cannot be made between her and Jane Doe. For this reason, I decided not to reach out to LA County ME/C about this possible match. I think the cold case detective is following up with LA County ME/C just to cover all bases though.

Ariza is 5'4 and 120 lbs, which is within the height range and close to the same weight as Jane Doe. She is Hispanic, which our Jane Doe is believed to have been. She went missing approximately 6 months before Jane Doe was found.

Interesting find. What a strange and sad story.....It's a shame there are no identifiers for her.....I just wonder how that works...Is it that hard to look for family when a young girl like this goes missing...the family she worked for must have known where she came from. I find it very strange that she, according to the family member, was dropped of on a bus stop 250 miles from the town she worked...BS IMO

Yes, it is a very strange case. According to information in Ariza's case file, one of her family members stated that Ariza had never been to the dentist. That is why they do not have dental records for her.

As far as Jane Doe goes, I still have several possible matches that I want to submit but I'm contacting the agencies handling the missing persons' cases first to verify that there are dental records and fingerprints available before I submit it to LA County ME/C (they are handling the Jane Doe case).

I think that is a very good strategy. My experience is that LA is not very willing to share (possible extra) information with the public.

It's not in the files I linked. Yes that would be great if you want to copy that info to her page! I'm planning to post to Darlene's and Lurline's (the first two possible matches I submitted) pages a little later today.

Thanks for posting that to the thread about Ariza! I just checked NamUs and it looks like Jane Doe's case was "modified" today. I didn't see any changes to the profile though. I'm assuming that either means that the investigating agency added/modified info that isn't viewable to the public or that they just logged in to view the page and it just shows up as "modified" because of them viewing the page while logged in.

I saw your PM. I'll respond to it tomorrow!

Got our girl on the "List of Unidentified Murder Victims in California" Wikipedia page. I named her Tujunga Jane Doe.

I looked at this missing girl very carefully today: Blanca Elisa Roberson, also known as Elisa Roberson. She is a supposed victim of a non-family abduction, missing from Aransas Pass, Texas since 1989, when 13 years old. Her height then was 5'0 (120 lbs). I'm not sure how accurate that is, she also could have grown a little more, before menstruation set in (speculation). The height of Lila Jane Doe is also an estimate, so I wouldn't focus that much on it. She would have been 18 in 1994, when Lila Doe was found. Also wanted to see her teeth (most pictures of Elisa are with a closed mouth) I found one picture that gives a little better look at her teeth. To me it seems she has a or some gaps. The other stats fit. She is a Hispanic girl an a native of Nicaragua. Wig? Still don't know. To be incognito or to cover her ears, that stand out a little and would be very recognizable? (not meant disrespectful) Also to me she has a little "fling" of Asian, looking at her face. Also she was used to going to church (Jezus pendant)

What a coïncidence! For me Ariza and Blanca are both good potential matches. The others I don't feel confident about. I really hope this is leading us somewhere. Keep us posted.

I have some updates. I submitted two possible matches to LAMEC within the last week.

1. Jennifer Marteliz - could not be compared with Jane Doe because Jennifer still had most of her baby teeth and Jane Doe had no baby teeth.

2. Meredith Medina - her dentals were compared to Jane Doe's by a Forensic Odontologist at NamUs. He indicated that he "unfortunately cannot exclude or include them as being the same person due to a lack of definitive irreconcilable differences."

I have been in contact with LE about other potential matches, including Blanca Elisa Roberson, Amanda Rivera, Krista de la Rosa, and Monique "Pebbles" Santiago.

I have other potential matches that I haven't spoken about with LE yet, but it's a long list so I may post it later.

I think I'm going to wait until after I've talked to LE to find out more info before I post my thoughts about my other potential matches.

I did hear back from the detective handling Krista de la Rosa's case. I plan to submit it to LAMEC but I want to submit Monique Santiago's first because of the gap in Monique's front teeth. Also, I don't want to constantly be submitting potential matches to LAMEC.

At first I was trying to submit only one potential match per month to LAMEC, but when I began contacting the LE agencies handling the missing persons' cases to verify that the missing person had dental records and/or fingerprints available, I did not realize how quickly these agencies would respond.

The top candidates (for me) right now are Monique "Pebbles" Santiago, Blanca Elisa Roberson, and Darlene Tucker.

Doe Network lists them as available, but as usual I want to make sure that this info is correct before I submit the potential match to LAMEC.
