That is how it was done during the searches I've participated in (in IL) - we were asked to wait at the site where the possible evidence was located and LE met us there.

if citizens are still being asked to search it doesn't lead me to believe much has been found yet.

That has to be old news (some different than what we heard at the PC, so not even accurate), with the update of soon offering a reward.

Maybe they should instead be putting out an all points bulletin on the "mysterious" SUV instead of asking if we've seen WC. Obviously no one has seen him. Ugh

The frustrating part is that I haven't even seen flyers for him in our community in weeks. I bet if you asked most people that live here they would say they haven't even heard of the case. There has been no media coverage.

  • #247
The only place I have seen a flyer is on the liquor store that I (and he apparently) frequent, right around the corner from his place.
Mind boggling to say the least.

Im pretty sure LE knows the suv belongs to the nephew based on the PC. But probably arent saying it definitively to keep people from thinking too much into it. Since they havent named any suspects.

I do wonder why the last person to see WC on that Thursday has never said what he was wearing ? Important because, someone could spot an article of clothing, or a shred of clothing( last worn by WC) along a highway, or in a dumpster, but the person seeing it would never connect that clothing to a missing person. It's just strange. jmo

I don't think LE is looking for him, and aren't doing anything to make sure anyone is. The only person I know (other than his family of course) that I know of that made any real effort was The Mad Scientist. It's all very sad.

When questioned by LE maybe nephew said that he went back to house at 5:06 pm because he forgot something.

Let's just say that's the case. Then why did LE say it was a "mysterious driver" commandeering it and they needed to enhance the video to determine who it belongs to?

No one has been named a POI, but no one has been cleared either. Just sayin'.

I'm just sayin too in a what if scenario.

I think they want to enhance it because it looks like someone else could be in the car too. Or maybe they know it is the nephews but the nephew claimed he never went back to the house, so they are enhancing to prove he did. Just a thought.

I have thought the same thing all along...that is usually standard ("last seen wearing...") even if he could have been wearing something entirely different, partially different...unless this is not an "active" MP case...and LE and the family know that...but have no evidence (or enough evidemce) to file criminal charges (if that is the hypotheses one chooses to run with...ok that is the one I am choosing to go with)

I believe the same.....no evidence or enough to file criminal charges.

Right now it is just the waiting game....sad to say.

Hoping for resolution in this case soon.

Thank you. That was exactly my point.

Did citizens get asked to search, or did they just start searching on their own?

There has been a lot of odd activity on this case, and William is still missing. There are a lot of unanswered questions, a lot of weird vibes, and a lot of hinky behaviors and alibis. IMO

$5,000 reward being discussed: http://www.hometownstation.com/santa-clarita-news/public-safety-2/news-template-2016-7-186357

Also from the article:

“The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station believes no new information will develop without
community assistance,” said the item.

Investigators were able to confirm that another relative was at the Cierzan residence earlier that day and that the relative had been reached and at this time is not considered to be involved.
Cierzan’s wife did note that in her previous conversations with her husband the day of his disappearance he never mentioned the relative being present.
Surveillance video shows a car matching the relative’s description leaving the house that same day, and investigators are currently working to enhance the video.
