Circumstances of Disappearance

Yuri had plans to relocate to Michigan and seek a new job and settlement. He discussed these plans with family members. He also spoke about touring the US playing at dive bars, as he is an accomplished guitar player. He was last seen by his sister April 6 after taking an Uber to a nearby Vons. He did not contact family, friends or others to notify them of his whereabouts after this. He also left behind his as personal affects, credit cards, etc.

It sounds like he came back from Vons and was then last seen by his sister. It's illogical, because why mentioning the Vons if that was the case. So most likely saw him before he took an Uber to a nearby Vons. Did they check with Uber if he indeed took the ride and to where? and Vons, for CCTV footage? It's sounds some kind of made up story and he didn't went to the grocery store at all or he went there on the way to another location.

I hope he is safe and will contact family or law enforcement soon. It's obviously worrisome that he left important things behind.
IMO he should be considered endangered and LE should try to obtain his phone records.

Details of Disappearance​

Karapetyan was last seen by his sister in Los Angeles, California at 9:00 p.m. on April 6, 2022, after taking an Uber ride to a local Vons jewelry store. He left all his personal belongings and credit cards behind and has never been heard from again.

Prior to his disappearance, Karapetyan told his family he had plans to move to Michigan to live and work. He was an accomplished guitar player and spoke of wanting to tour the country, playing at dive bars. His case remains unsolved.

Not finding any jeweler named Vons, Vaughn's or Vaughan's anywhere in or around LA.

• There is a Vons or Von's Jewelers in Lima, Ohio.
• There's also a California jeweler chain called DeVons, but all of the stores are in NorCal, except for one in Reno.
• There are 2 Vaughan's Jewelers in NC, one in Edenton, the other in Wilson.

What an odd case, I echo others' opinions that he doesn't look remotely like the same person in these pics.

Do Vons have jewelry stores inside them? Like how some Fred Meyers have a jewelry store inside?

Looking at the pics he was not a big guy by any means before his weight loss. He seemed to be at a normal healthy weight. I wonder if he was having health issues or possible addiction battles that may have caused this weight loss. JMO.

No, I have been to several Von's in LA, none have any kind of jewellery section. Strictly groceries and flowers and a deli, etc.

Jewellery stores in LA usually close before 9 pm, for safety purposes. Some that are in shopping malls might be open until about 9, but no later, except maybe Christmas hours.

His recent weight loss worries me. Could he have been using drugs or pills and maybe gone on a drug buy, and was robbed?

Just chiming in to say I agree with others that he looks nothing the same in his photos. Also find it interesting that he was going to move to Michigan to start a new life, but also planned to tour the US playing guitar? It sounds a little….”all over the place” to me. As someone who struggles with both mental health and addiction, it sounds a bit too familiar, JMO entirely.
