Police are seeking the public's help to locate a 27-year-old man from Hercules who reportedly was last seen Saturday night at a friend's house in Fairfield.

Zachery Rose walked away from the residence on the 2400 block of Shorey Way at about 10 p.m., leaving behind his vehicle and personal belongings and has had no contact with friends or family since, the Fairfield Police Department said.

Rose was described as is white, 6-feet, 1-inch tall, 240 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He last was seen wearing black shorts, a black T-shirt, and black Under Armor shoes.

"According to friends and co-workers, it is very out of character for Zachery to not make contact with anyone," police said.

“The man just stepped outside to smoke and the man never came back in . . . There is nothing else to indicate it is anything else,”

The search for Rose was expanded Thursday. The Solano County Office of Emergency Service is now coordinating the search and has activated the sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team.

Molly Powers, assistant director at OES, said a “hasty search” has been initiated, while a broader search strategy is being developed.

The hasty search includes a foot and car search from the point where Rose was last seen, which was about 10 p.m. on the 2400 block of Shorey Way. Team members will also conduct additional interviews with people Rose knows so areas the missing man is known to frequent or might go to can be checked.

If that does not yield any results, then the broader search is launched.

One area that will likely be targeted is Cement Hill, the general area of which is only a few blocks from the Shorey Way home. Powers said an ATV team could be utilized as necessary.

Zachery Rose, a 28-year old Hercules man, has been missing since February. The Fairfield Police Department was contacted on February 4, 2018, by a friend of Zachery's who said that he had disappeared from a residence on Shorey Wy in Fairfield the prior evening. Since learning of his disappearance, detectives in the Investigations Bureau have been actively searching for any information regarding his possible whereabouts.

Assuming he went to bed after Zachery "left the house", would the alarm bells not be going off the moment he woke up and realized Zachery still wasn't back and all of his belongings were still there?!? But instead he waits until 3:00 pm to contact police?

Investigators say Lasater reported Rose missing 17 hours after he said he last saw him at 10 p.m. Feb. 3. In a dispatch call obtained by NBC Bay Area, an emotional Lasater is heard telling a dispatcher how Rose had left the house the night before, leaving behind his parked truck and all his personal belongings, and had not returned. He said he wasn’t aware of anyone with whom Rose might have left.

... investigators have repeatedly questioned Lasater as a potential person of interest related to both Volkl’s death and Rose’s disappearance. At this point, Fairfield police say, they cannot rule out the San Francisco sheriff’s lieutenant as a suspect.

Police identify human remains found in Fairfield as man who went missing nearly 3 years ago

Fairfield police on Monday announced the human remains found in a field near an Amtrak station have been identified.

Rose's body and clothing were found in a field near Cement Hill and Peabody roads by the Fairfield/Vacaville Amtrak station, police said on Saturday.

Police said they would not be issuing further details on this case and that the investigation is ongoing.
