There is plenty of food for the volunteers. I can assure you. This is not about Cindy. It's about Caylee.

Is anybody else scared of what they may find? I want to help, but I do have this battle going on in my emotions about being able to handle seeing a possible dead little caylee. Is anybody else struggling with this but feeling the pull to go? are there other places they need help? feeding volunteers or working at the command center? Where have they been searching? What is the process like?

Yes, there are other things you can do to help at the command center. Everyone that goes there struggles with this. I too had the same fear but I push myself to do what I have to do to try to help find her. She deserves this, does she not? Due to the confidentiality of your commitment to them as a volunteer you cannot divulge where they are searching. The process is very simple. You go to where they show you to search and you look for any clues that may lead us to her.

yes she does, and that is what makes me willing to face that fear...but it's definitely an emotional battle. If I could find a way to go this afternoon, is there a particular time that is the best to come? Or do they just assign you to a team when you come?

You need to go as early as possible. The later in the day cuts down on search time. With storms rolling in afternoons, that really cuts down on the search time even more.

Depends on how many people they have. We were grouped in a team of 10.

I refuse to let my focus of Caylee be sidetracked by opinions of the sordid details surrounding this case. Caylee needs to be found and that's the focus of this thread.

Are volunteers needed at the site for things other than the actual searching? For example, sorting and setting out food and drinks, errand runners?

Would people with a wireless laptop be able to help look things up, post updates, send messages to families of searchers?

People with cell phones to call local businesses to ask for donations of bottles of water or whatever's needed? Convey messages?

How about those of us far away? Is there anything we can do? Type things up and send them to a Kinko's down there for printing and delivery to the search site or other location? I'd be more than happy to do anything at all long distance.

Is there anything needed us long distancers can have delivered? Coffee? Drinks? Donuts ? Socks? Bug spray?

Another thought I had too is if you can put the word out in your areas to get people to go. I'm trying to find out if they will be there tomorrow. Will get back as soon as I find out.

I found an article in the Orlando Sentinel that stated the following. Thought it might give some insight as to what can be done from a distance.


Mandy Albritton, EquuSearch's deputy director in the search for Caylee, said members are realistic about the chances of finding Caylee, who relatives said was last seen alive in mid-June.

"Whether we're looking for a live child or a dead child, we'd like for the community to continue to work for Caylee," Albritton said. "Whether she's coming home to live out her life or home to rest, it's still a rescue mission."

Albritton said the nonprofit group will spend at least $25,000 on the search and hopes that local businesses will donate food and water for volunteers. She also said she hoped for a larger turnout, and worries that local ill will toward Casey Anthony is distracting locals from the need to focus on Caylee.

I have also called trying to find out if the search will be extended through tomorrow. I am trying to organize a group to go. Would you please ask them that and if you find out before I do, please post here.
