Canada - 10 dead and at least 15 wounded in stabbing attacks in Saskatchewan, 2022

ADMIN NOTE:

Everyone, please read Websleuths TOS.

Social media chatter by the general public is rumor. What you "read somewhere" is not a source. If you can't link it to an approved source, it is not allowed.

Websleuths is fact based. If you state something as fact at Websleuths, it must be linked to an approved source (i.e. MSM, LE, approved social media such as MSM , crime reporters/investigative journalists, scholarly articles, etc), otherwise it is rumor or hearsay and that is not allowed here.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

This article indicates that Joyce and Edward Burns were his in laws

Edit to fix the names
Its so sad and tragic that it happened to them again and possibly by Myles if not Damien.

Just reported on Global BC TV, Myles Sanderson has died from self-inflicted wounds.

I replayed it a couple of times to make sure I heard it correctly, because other articles simply referred to him having been arrested.

ETA: Just in case you think I'm so far behind with this update, links in earlier posts indicating that Myles was deceased did not previously contain that information. The publication simply updated their info and that is now reflected in titles of earlier articles. (Either they were asleep at the wheel or they follow Websleuths :P)

Woah. Things changed…..quickly? You’re faster than even online news reports…..they’re just catching up with him being apprehended.

How did he commit suicide while in custody?

Edit to add: if it wasn’t you who posted I’d be doubting the veracity and asking for a source ;)

Edit again to add link to global article citing multiple sources about his death

One thing to note in this article is that the vehicle LE was pursuing in around Wakaw was stolen. Now how it was taken is what I want to know. Was anyone else hurt in this. LE said the individual had a visible knife with them.

He was allowed to carry a weapon(s) after being arrested?

That report includes some unexpected details about his behaviour while being arrested.

Smiling and chuckling as he was being taken into custody is hard to align with someone who took his own life minutes later (assuming he hadn’t already injured himself)

Why no “suicide by cop”? For the sake of the officers I’m glad he didn’t. But the whole situation seems odds to me.

Of course, I’m trying to apply logic to a situation that defies logic

MOO.

Edit to add: RCMP press conference at 7:30 Sask time. 9:30 EST.

I have to say that the most detailed coverage of this whole tragedy has consistently been Global News.

Any other reports of the death and citing their source as Global. I REALLY hope they verified the info.

I don't see that info at your link?

“As I was passing by, they hauled the fellow out of the car, had him in handcuffs and he appeared to be chuckling, which is beyond my comprehension.”

Willie said some police officers had their guns drawn while others were dealing with Sanderson. Willie said none of the officers appeared to be hurt, but he thought they were hearing about the incident from the suspect.

“I saw him laughing, like he was probably giving the police a hard time for catching him or whatever,” Willie said. “He was probably having his two cents worth of laughing and joking and maybe thinking — I don’t know what he’s thinking when you’re laughing being arrested after hurting so many people and killing people.”
