RCMP have launched a homicide investigation after four people were found dead in a Prince Rupert, B.C., home Tuesday night.
Police say the discovery was made in a suburban neighbourhood in the 100 block of Silverside Drive — a newer area on the east side of the North Coast city, that is home to about 12,000 people — at around 9 p.m. PT on June 13.
Const. Brody Hemrich says numerous personnel are still at the scene, but investigators do not believe there are any outstanding suspects or risk to the public.
When CBC News visited the property Wednesday afternoon, the yard and residence were behind police tape, as were two vehicles parked in the driveway and one on the street.
The home is less than one kilometre away from an elementary and high school.
The victims' names are not being released.''

''In a media release, police said they were called to the residence in the 100 block of Silversides Drive around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, where they found the bodies.

Multiple sources have told Global News that a couple and their two children are dead.

Chris Duong and his partner Janet Nguyen were well known in the community.''

“A woman who was killed alongside her two kids by her husband in an apparent murder-suicide is believed to have been a "willing participant," according to authorities. […]

Investigators also found that Duong and Nguyen had recorded a "last will and testament," Blumberg said, per the CBC and Global News.“

“The inquest heard Duong was apprehended by police while driving Nguyen and their children around in an effort to stay mobile and "not be tracked down," leading to him being taken in under the Mental Health Act.

On Wednesday of this week, Duong's longtime family doctor testified that in a psychiatric assessment at the hospital prior to release, Duong was "very friendly and calm and co-operative" and he saw no reason to be concerned about his mental state.

[…]Blumberg said Duong's father told police that in the days between his release from hospital and the deaths, Duong had acted "paranoid" including an instance of taking his children into their parked car and not coming out for several hours. The family was found dead later that same day.”
