He was on CCTV in court as well, so without taking offence, how could anyone make the distinction between 5'6" and 5'10" from a monitor without some very detailed reference points?

For sure...and I would say Cherchri would be able to answer that one best :)

btw...just wanted to note...love your signature line...it covers all the bases doesn't it? :)

I'm not sure, because, I was just in my garage and found this odd little object that fit in the palm of my hand yet claimed to be 12 feet long. After examining it, my finger caught a little metal clip and then a strip of metal came out of it marking inches and centimeters. SO?,,, so I continued pulling on the metal strip until I reached 180 cm's and it too was marked in inches as 70 and 7/8ths of an inch...

^^rsbm^^

hmmm....hmmmmmm....I can't quite remember what that thingamabob is called.....old school stuff....OH...that's it....a tape measure! ;)

ETA: no offense whatsoever about old school btw....I, myself...am older than dirt... :)

Thanks and good catch! I'm terrible at anything math, that's why I get google to do the math haha! So do we think it's surely 5ft 10", is that what it seems to be?

1 inch = 2.54 cm. I find it easier to just remember that one inch is equal to just a little more than 2.5 cm. That way you can get pretty close with mental arithmetic.

No offence taken but he appeared to be more or less my own height. The distance from the top of the head to the top of door is usually a pretty good reference point for me. :). I saw several people appear via CCTV that day and with the exception of one tiny woman, he was very slight compared to other prisoners. Anyway I did say I was estimating and it's not a big deal really. Neither is he :)

Dirt yards must be mud pits in the winter! Perhaps some parts of the city are less noisy, with better tended yards, and no gangs? Is it true that people in Parkhill would not recognize three gunshots in the middle of the night?

Yes, dirten yards are a muddy mess come rain and mid winter Chinook,, plus they create extra dust come summer. And yes, I don't think people in Parkhill would flinch to gunshot sounds- firecracker sounds- fireworks - harleys - backfiring cars - trains screeching and clanging about - plus whatever sounds were coming from the construction site of that gawd awful looking house come fortress prior to a Canada Day extra long weekend.

I read a comment in another forum, a person who said they live 6-7 houses down from the Liknes house and that night heard IIRC: a high placement engine old truck RIP around their corner, they also commented the photo released of the truck (not sure if they meant Amber Albert photo or google photo, I think google) was by or at that same corner. It must've been at a time of night where they noticed the loudness possibly? Sounded like DG was in a hurry.

original stock, smooth sound,, the Tundra wins on noise.

dual tanks came as standard issue on a 1989 ford f150,, after jumping back and forth looking at the 88, 89 and 90, I'm leaning on it being a 90. and I know someone will say "but le said it was as 89?", and my answer will be "le also stated dg as having blue coloured eyes".

A 1989 ford f150 can hold 37 gallons at max capacity/topped off and get 17 mpg with regular gas (probably more with the slightly higher octane now but not the highest octane),, which translates to 629 miles or 1012 kms. We'll stick to 1000kms.

So lets do a radius chart; after filling at dg's and then travelling to the l's then back to dg's (assuming he went there), how many km's did he burn and how far could he get to wherever/radius and back to his property without refueling after returning to his property?

After some realistic averaging, DG travelled 80km's and I'll add another 40 km's for random driving, so 120 km's,, which leaves 880km's remaining or 440 km's he can travel away from his property and back without refueling.

DG could travel to Edmonton or Sakatchewan or The US/Canada border and back without worry, even less worry if he brought along two 5 gallon gerry cans. But would he want to travel QE2 North, Hwy 2 South, Transcan East/West, Hwy 22/Cowboy Trail N/S or Hwy 9 Drumheller, or the corridor's of white knuckle driving on a holiday weekend?

The heaviest presence of LE's on Canada Day are West/The Old Banff Coach Road/, Transcan West, QE2 North and 2 South. The closer you go towards Sundre/Rocky Mountain House the worse the random stops by the RC's. So this leaves going East or South East

lol...dirt yards are frozen in the winter for the most part :) I live in a very good neighborhood in the City and I wouldn't recognize three gunshots in the middle of the night. I say that because the few times I did think that's what I heard, I was told it was fireworks/firecrackers...its a sound that's quite common in a lot of neighborhoods....especially on a long weekend.
People party in their backyards, on their decks or in the dirt, or wherever.

Oh yeah....we don't have Chinooks :P :(

Don't think so unless I missed it, I don't know how….I'm assuming it's public record but maybe you have to fill in the FOI forms to get it? I'm totally out of the loop on that kinda stuff. Someone on here probably knows...

Any realty office has an account with Land Titles and can request it by fax if you have the legal land description. I think anyone else would have to physically go to Land Titles registry in Calgary.

In CCTV, is the prisoner standing and the camera shows him head to toe? I always assumed that CCTV with a prisoner was a head shot.

It sounds like an awful place to live, yet at the same time, it is one of the most sought after places to live.

Yes they stand. They are ushered through a side door which one sees on camera and then told where to stand which is up against a wall. So what we see is the person, from head to toe, as if directly across the room.

Is this calculation based on dual tanks?

It's a very big city that could realistically be two cities.

The new Alberta license plate is apparently removing Wildrose Country for something like Come Live The Stereotype and if you drive a truck too big for any real purpose you can get the license plate with a soft background of the U.S confederate flag.
