I wonder what happened to the factory ... because it doesn't look like there's a factory on the acreage. However if there was a factory there in 2000, it's clearly long gone, so the business is probably long gone as well.

Why would the factory have to be situated on the acreage?

I don't think there is a mass perception that the accused is manufacturing illegal drugs simply because he would be charged with those offences if there was evidence. I think there is a mass perception that he is involved in the murders of three people. That much has been reported by police.

I agree Otto, I've already mentioned the point about the drug manufacturing yesterday, or the day before.

I was going to share it but thought better of it. Might as well have because the anticipated lashing happened regardless . The phosphine ref is most interesting.

Chemical formula for zinc phosphide - Zn3P2 <<bbm ...just a coincidence with P2Solutions? Probably but it struck me...

I'm probably way off base but could it be possible he was developing something along the lines of what P2 Science has available...?

Considering his invention..or adaptation of the invention of AL....which didn't work with oil extraction in the oil fields....maybe he was developing something that would work on crops...aka vegetables.....as P2 Science does....

I'm still investigating the uses of Zinc Phosphide other than rodent control...maybe it can be used in breaking down vegetable products?

I'm FAR far FAR from any kind of science person but maybe it's possible? JMO

There is also a mass assumption/speculation that he is guilty of those murders, which he may very well be. I drive....its a privilege in Canada. I vote...that is also a privilege in Canada. There is another privilege in Canada that all citizens should enjoy...it's commonly known as "innocent until proven guilty"...I hope that if I should ever find myself in need of this privilege (heaven forbid), that it be as solid and true as my other rights are. That is the premise of this wonderful country as opposed to some others...the amazing rights and freedoms that we have for all to enjoy. JMO

They may not want to disclose that evidence right now (if they have such evidence) as it could compromise the investigation.

I don't agree. If there was any evidence that there was an illegal drug manufacturing lab on the property, police would have no reason to delay in laying charges. Drug manufacturing, and murder, are two entirely different criminal offences, and charges for illegal drug manufacturing would have no bearing on three murders committed at a different location.

They are different criminal offences but if chemicals were found during the recent search for missing people and they have any connection to the missing people they will hold that evidence until trial.

While outward appearances were that the phone number, addy and email belonged to the owner of the acreage, at least one of the postings using that email was with the user ID "Matt1" and saying to contact Doug(or Douglas).

I think reference to a factory at another location could be related to DG having had a rental facility in Crossfield(?) in 1992 when he was busted for his illegal lab.

Not to say this is the case here, but innocent people have been convicted of heinous crimes previously, and accusations are just that...

Bring yourself back to the memory of being falsely accused of something, even if it's far back to high school, and how your peers treated you based on rumor or lie.

I don't think anyone is suggesting compassion and understanding means forgiving, absolution, or crime without punishment.

Nihilistic...that's a big word...lol. Where did I say actions never have consequences? I said that twice in my last post...they are just not consequences that are within any individual's right to assign or employ.
Why is this a difficult concept to grasp? My compassion for every human being is equal. Period. Everyone gets as much compassion as I am capable of. I'm sorry...a choking snake gets as much compassion as the rabbit it ate.
I'm not sure I understand the tenacity employed here to dissect or denigrade my level of compassion...and why is my level of compassion an isdue? Why is it so bothersome that someone would be kind towards a person who may have committed a crime? Haven't you ever heard that those people are the ones that need love the most? Why also does my opinion cause such derision and backlash? To each his own. I like to clean up my own backyard before looking in others.

Curious. Even if someone brutally murdered your child? You would be able to STILL have the same amount of compassion afforded say a loved one?

Yes, I would. As would each member in my family. If this is so hard to believe, then society has a huge problem. Would I be hurt, angry, etc...YES! Would I have the ability to eventually forgive and be empathetic, kind and compassionate? YES!! Why? Because those in my family that were brutally murdered would expect that, and also because...harboring hatred, anger, bitterness, etc. Is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die. The only way to heal is thru forgiveness. And if you don't buy this, that's just too bad because THAT is who I am! I was brought up this way and have a huge capacity for love. There is nothing wrong with that...so pardon me if I don't apologize.

Furthermore, how do my morals and values affect this case? They don't.

What sort of connection could the victims have to an illegal drug lab? As far as I can tell from reading about the case, the murders have nothing do to with drugs. There has been some suggestion that the motive might be related to a bad business deal .. but not a drug deal.

It seems more like an empty thought than a noble one.

What better way to prevent further similar crimes, than to delve into the whys, the reasoning, and the triggers for such an action?

How many crimes used to be based on bullying, racism, sexism, childhood abuse and a whole host of negative societal norms that we now know better at how to try to prevent? Someone had to have the courage to understand the criminal's perspective rather than dismiss it as evil or crazy.

The empty thinking is in only considering punishment.

The P2 Solutions company information is the Airdrie acreage information. I don't believe that there were millions in sales, and there is no factory on the property. It reminds me of Alvin's numerous company profiles.

The P2 company was established in 2000, the Crossfield rental was raided by police in 1992. What kind of factory has no phone, no address, and no email?

We know that Garland was designing something for the oil/gas industry for Alvin, designs that were later patented by Alvin.

Designing and probably prototyping. Prototyping is mentioned in the Ranchland Equipment company info too. I wonder if DG did a lot of the idea/design and protoyping but didn't receive credit as been discussed here before.
