Quite possible ...there could be any number of reasons for P2 Solutions....
I simply posted a link to the information page about the chemical Zinc Phosphide....I left it up to others to go and read it if they felt interested to do so :)
I don't have really any theory as to what P2 Solutions is/was involved in....I can hazard guesses...nothing in stone...or read what the company description states...

A post of mine further on in the thread *I'd have to go and look to see where ...but shortly after the above post of mine you quoted*...In my random searches I had found another company....with the 'P2' as part of their company name....
They are involved in the extraction of vegetable oils...
I was going out on a very shaky limb with a hypothetical ...Extraction *bells went off as this was something similar to what DG and AL had been working on with the patent from what I recall...but it was oil not veg oil*...P2 *part of DG's company name as well*....
Maybe the chemical can be used for extraction of veg oils...I have NO idea? *I'd remembered earlier where someone....can't remember who....said that Zinc Phosphide could be used for removing rust or cleaning metal...or something like that*...so my question was whether it could be used for extracting oils.....
As I'd said in that post too....I am far and away....NOT a science person.....
At no time...have I posted that he was even possibly into the meth cooking or manufacture...Has it crossed my mind...for sure....he seems to go back to doing things that get him in trouble....so who knows right? At this point...with little solid information as to 'what' he was doing out there on the back 40....we can only guess....

It's wonderful isn't it....the different slants we can all take on this.....
They can sure go off into all different directions....but that is a GOOD thing....means we have 'the bases covered' ....

I hope one....or maybe a combination of 'theories'...helps even in some small way in bringing N, A & K home.....it may not....but at least everyone has TRIED. :) JMOO

Yes, I have to admit I've been all over the place in terms of brainstorming, trying to think of anything and everything, maybe over thinking things. But the point being as you said and I agree - I really want them found soon. A final resting place is needed for the families.

Maybe DG has used the aluasxso long he actually thinks thats who he is? Maybe that's why he doesn't cover his tracks well using the alias. Just a thought.

Yes he could, could that be part of a multiple personality disorder? He was living under the alias in BC so I assume he used the name when dealing with the people he eventually took to small claims so he would have had to keep the name to go before the court.

Regarding the identity theft charge. Here's an idea as to how it could be related to the murders.

Could it be possible that DG used his MH false identity to communicate with the Ls over the purchase of estate sale items advertised on kijiji? Example: responds to ad to say he wants the couch, will pay full price, maybe even pay by Paypal, out of a bank account in the name of MH, so that they'll hold the item for him and can't come to pick it up until, say, 10 PM. This would indicate a premeditated plan and a plausible reason to gain entry into the L home later at night. Evidence of the sale may have been found in a forensic examination of DG's computer (not that I recall for certain that he had a computer ...)

Just an idea as to how the identity theft charge might have been related to the murders.

Did it say what the ID items were? I know it was a bank card, but did it say what the other item was? Was it a SIN? Or a DL? Was that ever reported?

Except that KL was described as last seen in pajamas... it's not impossible, but that hints they probably weren't expecting visitors after NO's mom left.

I read in one of the posts that the green truck was identified immediately by a neighbour because it was missing its mirror? The police issued 2 photos of the green truck, and in those photos, the pic is far away and when I enlarge to see it more closely, it has bad resolution.. but to me it looks like there IS a mirror.. can anyone clarify this?

Certainly DG could have used the identity to his advantage and in order to protect his real identity. I hope that AL and KL were aware of DG's criminal past and alias. I would hope Allen Liknes was also aware and if so I would think he would have told his father.

They may have known about the criminal offences without knowing the alias DG used. It was pretty far back in his past.

Note: it wasn't a theory I was presenting, just an example of a way DG's criminal use of the stolen identity might have tied into the crime of murder.

That said, a fully clothed AL could have dealt with such a late night pickup as suggested in my post.

IMHO

I think the missing word there is 'publicly'... which is correct. There has been no direct connection mentioned anywhere. Anything discussed was all just speculation to determine whether it's a plausible theory, or if it's too far fetched to consider. I assume several people have searched for some sort of connection, which I also assume has turned up nothing.

Such is sleuthing. Interesting theories, just as many dead ends.

I think another key word might be "yet". As much sleuthing that's been going on, and as good as it is...has anyone found out exactly who AL's company(s) did business with? Or who his investors may be? I don't know if that would be a matter of public record. Not suggesting that the L's were involved in drugs...you yourself suggested not to close the door on any possibilities at this point. There's not enough information....the Defense may have gotten more?

Just yesterday, I saw 3 people walking to the store in their pyjamas...I live in a very nice neighborhood too so I doubt it makes that much difference weather KL was in pj's or not if DG was coming to claim furniture...pj's don't look the way they used to...not all look like lingerie or bunting bags anymore...lol

Well, I was going to say I'm not too shy about answering the door in my pjs either... But I draw the line at going to the store! [emoji2]

There is at least one newspaper article which seems to state something a little different than the rest.. unless perhaps you WSer's know of more info on this.. so... do we take this as bad reporting/error, or as this newspaper got some kind of different information from LE? Has anyone seen anything to suggest that his truck was actually 'parked' at the house on that fateful weekend? (BBM)

Over the last weekend of June, hundreds streamed through the front door of the blue-grey clapboard house at 123 38A Avenue in Calgary – the Liknes home. One of the many vehicles to park near the house, police would later reveal, belonged to Mr. Garland, whose sister, Patti, was in a common-law relationship with Alvin and Kathryn Liknes’s son Allen.

Why he may have visited the Liknes home around the end of June remains a mystery and the subject of theories in Calgary and the town of Airdrie.

Another weird thing in that same newspaper article.. I wonder where AL was and why he was rather invisible during the sale?: (BBM)

Tracy, who preferred to withhold her last name, was a local resident who stopped by the Liknes’s estate sale, leaving Friday evening with her eye on a set of dressers. Her boyfriend returned the next morning to haggle over the price.

“I spoke with [Ms. Liknes], she seemed happy, telling us about how they were going to move and take a trip somewhere,” she said.

According to the woman, Mr. Liknes wasn’t very visible during the sale. When her boyfriend returned the next morning, he also spoke only with Ms. Liknes.

Good theory! I could see that happening. If that's the case, he might've had to park down the road if they recognized his truck, but if they didn't know what his vehicle looked like he could've pulled right into the driveway and they would've opened the door to let in.

Maybe he was cleaning out his office at Winter Petroleum?
