Can someone provide a link for the L's neighbours statement about blood? I have not seen it myself. TIA!

I believe it was a comment he blurted out at the beginning of a news piece (video) at the beginning of the case. I will look for it in a little bit.

In this article you may have to watch like a 10 sec vid to view entire article.....and there is one inaccuracy at least that I can see....

http://www.dailyheraldtribune.com/2014/07/24/gp-company-aiding-police-in-murder-investigation

"Greg Head, brother to Grovedale’s Mike Head who is president of Vieworx, lives in the south Calgary neighbourhood of Parkhill. Originally from the Grande Prairie area, Greg moved to Calgary in 2005 and lives next door to Nathan’s parents, Rod and Jennifer O’Brien."

It can't be both....RO & JO don't live in Parkhill.....I think maybe the reporter 'assumed' Parkhill...not sure...but either/or....

"I mean, you start with June (30), Jen goes to pick up Nathan and there’s lots of blood and no one there. And that’s where it starts and then for two weeks…you have some hope and then you don’t have hope,” said Greg."

I am thinking that was JO's neighbour, Greg Head. Is that who you are referring to?

There was the bit somewhere along the way in all this about AL selling a piece of land on Vancouver Island , to cover a debt or something , a couple of yrs ago. Perhaps he didn't sell it all and still owns a property there. It's hard not to jump at any possible sighting, even now, and hope that somehow ....

I've been itching to know whereabouts on Vancouver Island, as I know that area well.

Also AL's son CL went to high school there in Duncan, so maybe that area? But maybe not. AL might've sold the land to a family member also.

I also read on a forum someone said they know a cop and the cop used the words 'blood bath'.

You know...every day we talk of all these horrific methods of killing...disposing of bodies...all kinds of gruesome scenarios right?

But I have a really hard time picturing the inside of that house....and JO that morning....as a Mom....good gawd I can't...DON'T even like to imagine.....'blood bath'....I would be so frantic...terrified...my heart hurts so much over this :'(

I know this was discussed previously, and simply attributed to clerical error.. but why not fix it then? It remains a curiosity because I'm sure it is easy enough to fix, and I'm sure by now they have been informed by numerous parties, numerous times, that it is incorrect... (if it is incorrect?)

I think we will have to wait and see just how accurate that type of information is. Again, nothing has even been proven in court. JMO. I will dig around a little but I still think it was a clerk or admin. that got ahead of things, or a typo.

any accountant types on here? I was just sleuthing my sunburn away and it's too complex for me to write it out but winterpet never went bankrupt,, as mentioned too hard to explain but their assets were pretty good for a junior junior; 145 sections of land and 2.5 MMcf/d (which I'm about to phone my sister about as she's a forensic acct for BIG junior o&g's).

to make your googlin easier, copy paste this query > current 2014 value of 2.5MMcf/d? <

Ok, I don't recall reading that 'blood everywhere' comment... can someone post a link?? Hate to think I missed something like that!

EtA.. nevermind, someone posted, I was a few posts behind realtime, thank you!

I had thought of the injection business too but considered it a little bit too 'prime time' to consider. You could be on to something, though.
But, if we are to believe the O'Brien's neighbour, there was "blood everywhere" in the home when JO arrived in the morning.

I recall seeing that report, but I did not equate 'lots of blood' to 'blood everywhere'..

Yes, could be my mistake...for some reason I thought it was the guy watching Nathan in the park with AL...that's who I thought had said the comment.

I had actually started looking for both AL or KL family members in BC thus afternoon...haven't gotten really far.
Maybe Stan Laurel knows whereabouts the property that sold was located?

I hear ya. I try to take that comment with a grain of salt, and treat it as gossip as some people out there like to sensationalize or exaggerate things. I'm hoping that's all it was, just exaggerated gossip :(

Did maybe AL have a personal bankrupt then? Was it published in MSM that Winter Pet did in fact go bankrupt? I'll google your post later when I have time!

No, I believe all that happened there was government seized equipment over $800,000 owing in property taxes and penalties. I think they just shut their doors to staff, etc...but not bankrupt. So then was June's bankruptcy for AL personal? I guess it must have been.

I think it must be...for the reasons I stated earlier. 'Blood bath' and 'medical distress' paint two very different pictures...IMO

About the WP bankruptcy.. I think it is a process, and not necessarily an immediate thing? I'm not sure how it all works.. also, wouldn't someone have to be responsible for updating any IC website as to the new status, and if so, who would that be, and how long would it take? Also, if the firm owed hundreds of thousands of dollars in back property taxes, how does that work for the city/county to come in and take equipment? How would the city/county know who actually owned the equipment, or if the equipment already had a lien against it with another party (ie perhaps it was leased equipment, how would the county know??)?? I know firms who have owed a lot of money in back property taxes, and as far as I know, the normal procedure is for them to take back the 'property', and put the property up for sale. But.. in this case, were the property taxes owed for the... other places where they were to potentially do drilling, or for their leased office space? (that doesn't make sense?). I'm just confused about how a municipal government gets to come into a business and remove equipment to compensate for property tax arrears... can anyone enlighten me?

Yes, I'm sure it was posted in MSM that the company had gone bankrupt just prior to this tragic 'event'.

I just thought of a good way to explain what became of Winter Pet; Winter Pet was merely a storefront since 2007 when another entity bought out it's assets,, the secretary thru accountants got to keep their jobs but they were no more a position of power than a barista in a Starbux. Likely there was an agreement that it would cease to exist in June of 2014 (which would explain how AL knew when to sell his house in December). I could post a link but won't on the whom's and who's of who now own the assets but it isn't relevant only in such that the address for the numbered company was once in the building space of WinPet and the company there now is also part of the collective entity who is part of the numbered company.

2.5MMcf/d is equal to about 1,500 barrels of oil per day. The assets assumed in 2007 by the numbered entity are about 80 well sites. The royalties to Alberta off these well's would be about $10,000 per day, which makes that back tax of $800,000 trivial.

How this all relates to a murder is simple,,

it is the common theme throughout, no matter what side of the fence you post from.

Deceit.
