Where did the photos go that you had? They were there and I quoted it in my reply. Did they go *proof* like my mis-spent youth?

Otto deleted them.

Yes, but the police would not comment or confirm that as per the link you posted. It has not been confirmed as drag marks. The drag mark comment could be the same as the violent incident/struggle issue.

Do we need the police to verify eye witness statements before we believe them?

Violent Incident is a legal term. Newspapers normally use layman's terminology, so "violent incident" was written as "violent struggle". Is it not obvious that there was a violent struggle ... given the bloody crime scene?

The eye witness is most likely the reporter and I doubt the police are going to be referring to his conclusion in the file.

How did you find that out? Very interesting indeed.

Stan? Would you like to explain? I am a little worked up right now..

Full moons really make me crazy!

How do we know that? Did someone go to the land titles office and collect information about the home owners that live on that street?

It's pretty easy to find info on the internet. We could verify it with a trip to the land title department as well.

I did have steak, it was very good and bolettes are mushrooms and all households and farms have evidence to suggest murder and farms big and small and especially those around for big chunks of time have an assortment of pesticide and fertiliser that fall into categories such as irritant, caustic and corrosive and are batched as needed or bought pre-mixed. if used incorrectly they can do other things like make bombs that can take down whole buildings (Tim McVeigh and company) or in this case and others theories, remove people either onsite or at a predetermined locale. If one was chemically astute, some could be manipulated to create a far more intense fire temperature or a caking powder that mummifies and staves off stink that would attract rodents as even buried carrion can be smelled out by most rodent, scavenger or predator,, I think borax does this.
If I add up the junk my ex left in our garage, it could easily be taken as ingredients for many devious tasks.

Now steak - that is MY specialty!

Violent Incident is not a legal term. A struggle implies someone fought back - we do not know that to be a fact. If the victims were attacked in their sleep, there would be no evidence of a "struggle".

Are we cognizant and respectful of the possibility that the victim's families may be reading here when we spew our imagined descriptions of the crime scene?

It was said by the news person, and then Sgt Andrus indicated 'individual or individuals' also. I could read the context of the statement as it is clear in the video linked. Obviously at that time LE was open to the possibility that 2 people were in that vehicle.

I posted that or something similar but was told that I couldn't read the context of the statement and they only meant one person.

maybe those closer to the law can answer this; let's say that dg wasn't arrested until we'll say two weeks later. would LE have to keep reporting on the investigation? do they get to be mum after an arrest?

If it was my family, I don't think I would be here reading theories. Unfortunately, this *is* a crime forum and there are bound to be discussions about all aspects of the crime.

I fully admit to being hardened by my experiences and not always sensitive in my delivery. That is why I stick to these types of outlets and not support forums.

A photograph can tell so much more than even the eye can see.. I collect a certain item and it is amazing what can be seen in a photo that may not even be visible to the eye in the actual item in hand. The closeup part, of course, must be viewed as just a part of the whole however, and kept in perspective.

No one expects that a photo focusing on approximately 5 square feet of sidewalk is the same as eye witness reports.

Are we now going to argue that the eye witness is wrong ... simply because we want to see something entirely different in a photo?

It strikes me as making a mockery of these murders when facts are repeatedly twisted into something silly.

IMHO, and from my experiences, LE inform the public with regard to what they need to know for public safety and relevant disclosure. For the most part, we don't have a right to know most facets of a homicide investigation other than whether it is ongoing and if a suspect has been charged. LE certainly utilizes the public's assistance when necessary. We have pretty strict privacy laws in Canada and that REALLY limits both reporters and LE.

After an arrest, they are legally bound to not reveal ANY details of the investigation. They can update us if new charges are laid, but not much more.

When I view that police vehicle in that driveway, I believe it was just a close, convenient, not-in-the-way-of-potential-street-traffic place to park the vehicle, since the home was vacant (if it was), or even if it wasn't vacant.. I'm sure neighbours wouldn't have minded, I know I wouldn't have minded.

When we are finished with the blood debate I would like to know more about the house the police van is parked in. The house was for sale at the time, it could have been vacant. It had been staged in the photos with furnishings, it could have been rented out at the time or the owner or other family member could have been living in it. I believe it has a connection to the Liknes family and may have been searched as a potential crime scene.
