I will sleuthe the latka/latke

IMHO, and from my experiences, LE inform the public with regard to what they need to know for public safety and relevant disclosure. For the most part, we don't have a right to know most facets of a homicide investigation other than whether it is ongoing and if a suspect has been charged. LE certainly utilizes the public's assistance when necessary. We have pretty strict privacy laws in Canada and that REALLY limits both reporters and LE.
After an arrest, they are legally bound to not reveal ANY details of the investigation. They can update us if new charges are laid, but not much more.
Violent Incident is not a legal term. A struggle implies someone fought back - we do not know that to be a fact. If the victims were attacked in their sleep, there would be no evidence of a "struggle".

We don't have the facts to say there was a struggle. I believe it's possible there was a struggle in the L home. I do believe it's possible to have a "Violent Incident" without it being a struggle if, for example, a sleeping victim is attack and killed with no chance to fight back. Violent? Yes. Struggle? No.BBM
It is a legal term that is included in the Criminal Code. Police use legal terms like "violent incident", and "homicide".
Can we deny that the bloody crime scene was not the result of a violent struggle?
If it was my family, I don't think I would be here reading theories. Unfortunately, this *is* a crime forum and there are bound to be discussions about all aspects of the crime.
I fully admit to being hardened by my experiences and not always sensitive in my delivery. That is why I stick to these types of outlets and not support forums.
Are we cognizant and respectful of the possibility that the victim's families may be reading here when we spew our imagined descriptions of the crime scene?
so it was ordered at ten, before ten, a little after ten? when? when? when?
Thanks. Good to know!I beg to differ news.talk. I've been around this crime forum long enough to know that many, many family members read here and in many cases, post and discuss, looking for answers..
Sorry! That was the first time I ever did that. I never participated in any other descriptions of ways to be murdered. My description and intent was more of a fight and not resulting in death.
Can you get Chinese after 10? Were they going to eat Chinese after 10? Two older people and a 5 year old?
I've always just kind of thought that perhaps AL took Nathan out for an ice cream or something and KL was left at home alone. Perp came in and dealt with KL, then when AL and NO returned, NO would have been the "weapon" that kept AL under control.

maybe those closer to the law can answer this; let's say that dg wasn't arrested until we'll say two weeks later. would LE have to keep reporting on the investigation? do they get to be mum after an arrest?

Latka...latke...just semantics...they're little pancakes![]()
Hey, everyone. I was giving this over active brain a bit of a walkabout (a break from the site) and this came to me while I was trying to think about less intense topics.
Do farmers and agri people have access to stun guns or tazers? Are they as easy or difficult to buy on the black market as firearms, do you think?
To me it seems a little bit more practical that the L's were overcome with a tazer than with a tire iron.
It`s very difficult to talk about a subject such as this without getting a bit graphic from time to time. I am hoping that those family members are cognizant of the fact that no one is purposely being malicious, vindictive, disrespectful or gore-loving on this thread. Hoping also that they realize the reason people are discussing the crime is because there is care, compassion and concern going out to the victims as well as their families from the posters.![]()
"Forensic experts continue to analyze evidence taken from the home, which police hope will help them better understand the violent attack and how many of the three were hurt. But it could be another week before those lab results are available, Staff Sgt. Doug Andrus told reporters."

Didn't someone post a comment from a neighbour that toured the home when the clean up crew was there? Wasn't there something about the walls just inside the house being cleaned? The bedroom is not just inside the house ... the living room is.
