JMO, but I would not classify this case as a family dispute.

Nope, me either...if it was...the usually leave the bodies at the scene (typically in the home), or lead police to the dumping spot (Leanne White case)...probably because of the emotional attachment to the victim(s) The accused will usually clean the house up pristinely, the LE comes in an throws luminol allover and voila...there's the crime scene, usually the weapon and an overanxious or overly scared husband or boyfriend screaming I did it!

I'm kinda wondering who the forensic accountings work for: LE? Crown? Defense?
Who's checking into all pantent stuff between DG and AL; and who's checking into the plethora of AL's business dealings? Besides our wonderful brilliant sleuth, Stan Laurel. :)
The Medical Examiner works for the public, specifically, the victims. That is the reason that LE cannot make statements for the ME. The Medical Examiner will present findings and that office in no way works for either side.

LE has their own forensic technicians and they will present their findings come trial. They may or may not concur with the ME's findings.

As far as the "patent stuff" and any other investigative findings, that can be presented by either side. I suspect that both sides have investigators and will enter into evidence anything that is relevant.

deugirtni, do you recall if it was Chief Hanson or another officer who made the comment about unused bank accounts? Was it right around the time DG was arrested, say July 14 or 15th? And do you recall if it was on video or in print? I'm a bit under the weather and homebound at the moment, so I have the time to noodle about and look for that reference. I don't recall it myself, but you've made me curious. Thanks.

ABro, I would be doubting myself if it were not for the fact that someone else also heard it. We did not discuss it at all, LL simply stated to me that she had been searching for a video in which LE said that, and that she was unable to find it anywhere. I immediately knew what she was talking about because I had heard it too, so I then went searching for it, and also was unable to find anything. I swear to God it was said. It could have been when reporters were asking questions afterward, and perhaps the Q&A part of the video got cut?

If it makes you feel any better, I heard it as well, and cannot find the video either. :(

Does anyone know why all these links and articles are going missing from the internet? It's weird...they say you can never get rid of anything once it's out in cyber-space. Where exactly did this stuff Lt?

I recall it as being definitely on a video. I would place timeline to right around the vicitims were being declared deceased.

I guess I'm a little confused by your comment because it looks like things are already well on their way to tainting the jury pool. What more could have been said that would be more inflammatory than "they're dead" and this green truck has been spotted on CCTV driving around the area several times the night they went missing; we have a POI that we want to talk to and oh...he's got a prior criminal record, and we're hoping they're alive and POI has breached his bail conditions and this is now a murder, we cannot release the accused's name, etc. The mention of any particular forensic evidence wouldn't make the accused look any more guilty than he already does. IMO

LE can't interpret the evidence in public, or state it as fact though... Yes, it may come out at trial, but the defence may challenge the accuracy or validity of the evidence, or the interpretation of the evidence. Should the defence prove the evidence is, for example, planted or contaminated, then LE has not only tainted the jury pool by releasing the information prematurely, but also created a massive credibility issue for themselves by publicly stating something false and incorrect.

Innocent question for the 'firing squad'. Just for interests sake and out of curiousity. Just a little survey (if allowed).

How many here believe that DG is innocent until proven guilty? And how many here are wishing we had the death penalty back to hang the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, just based on what LE has told us for sure?

Just a thought-provoking thought. Obviously we can't have an anonymous showing of hands on here. But think about yourself...which one have you put your hand up for?
I uphold in the principle of innocent until proven guilty. I am prepared to be open-minded regarding DG's guilt. I think I'd make a good, impartial juror :) I'm all about the facts and the law.

I am 100% opposed to the death penalty.

I recall it was Hanson at the time of the formal announcement where they announced the missing person investigation is now a homicide investigation and the AA was called off. I watched it live stream on my computer and I believe it was thru the CTV website. I have watched the CPS version over and over. I think making note of the length may be helpful. 14:27

Today, I read on another forum (older post) that a family member (may have been RP) appeared on a news channel, possibly the late news, possibly CTV and made a plea to the person responsible (supposedly the day after the arrest) and it has been removed as well. It included a line "Your beer won't taste the same. Your relationships will break down." Has anyone seen that? I am going to try and find this.

ETA.. The person is referenced as a college professor/instructor.. I thought RP

I hope i don't seem irreverent about the seriousness of the topic at hand by saying your quote bolded above was enough to make me crave a beer, which I am now enjoying…

Well yes, and I'm sure you are among many who agree, and that is why it is disturbing that we can no longer find any reference to him having said that at one of the press conferences, and yet there are at least two of us who distinctly heard him say it.

I just thought of something, maybe it wasn't mentioned at the press conference, maybe it was in that one of one news interview with the chief or the retired homicide detective (trying to remember)! Not sure that helps, but thought to pass along in case it was there and not the press release.

Thank you for explaining it so clearly and well, I get it now.:_ Interesting that the ME is not called upon to offer her findings in the case, and as to why she has deemend them deceased as part of a joint info session with LE then. More more well-rounded communication. I think a simple statement such as our examination has evidence to prove that the victims are indeed deceased. Enough said. Perfect. Cut and dried.]

Does "she" refer to Dr. Anny Sauvageau? If so, she is in Edmonton, so she is not the ME on this case.

Yes, I'm sorry, as a matter of fact it does. My apologiesl Please replace ``she`` with "he" if that's appropriate for Calgary. I've read so much material I have trouble keeping them straight.

Thanks you for the heads up!

Maybe patent/Intellectual Property lawyers oand/or maybe Revenue Canada has an investigation branch? They would be unbiased and have no invested interest in any party (LE/Crown/Defence)? Guessing here, I'm curious now!

It would be cool to do a 2 sided 'vision board'...with everything we know from LE, MMS and all the sluethers. I bet it's not quite so black and white.
To me black and white is the Matthew DeGrood case...this one...not so much....just thinking out loud.

Are you volunteering? lol, now that would be a lot of work, but I sure would love to see that ;)

I think there is a way to make things disappear, although not 'really' disappear as users cache things or save things of the net, etc. so nothing truly disappears.

But I think LE can ask Google and search engine companies to make things 'unsearchable' to the public somehow, maybe Google has an legal or ethical clause in times where crimes are involved. Another guess here, but good questions, I want to go find out the answers to some questions posed tonight.

The fact is that on the morning that the bloody crime scene was discovered, there were dark liquid stains spanning 25 feet along the side of the house to the driveway. That's a fact. Do we know what that substance is? No, but police do. Is it part of the crime scene? Perhaps the silly policemen placed crime scene markers identifying a 25 foot long recently cleaned up kool-aid spill.

The three victims, one of whom was 6'2" and a couple of hundred pounds, were removed from the bloody crime scene. Perhaps they were taken out through the patio door, onto the deck, and a section of the fence was removed (and rebuilt) in the middle of the night. The bodies were heaved over the deck railing into something, but it wasn't the back of a pick up truck, because we don't know that the pick up truck is even related to the murders. It might have been a U-Haul, or a little yellow car - perhaps a Car2go.

perhaps they were rolled onto the deck and then easily dumped from the deck into the recycling bin and then the garbage bin and rolled to the alley and then up into the truck? good thinking otto!!!!!

The quote sounds familiar for sure, I seem to recall it also. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for the footage as well as the bank account footage.
