There is no reason to question the integrity of professionals that are investigating and trying this case.
I agree. I posted a similar response to questions of Chief Hanson's abilities and professionalism. If there are specific examples of dubious behaviour or practices, kindly provide. If not, I don't think it is wise to malign these individuals on a pubic forum.

Refusing to accept the facts of the case is not about keeping an open mind. Conspiracy theorists refuse to accept known facts. For example, we know that terrorists hijacked planes and flew them into the World Trade Center. Those are facts, but conspiracy theorists refuse to accept the facts and instead believe it was a US gov't plot.

But...maybe it was the government...how does anyone know for sure? The only one that knows for sure are either the person(s) flying the planes or the Govt Dept. that put it all together...I am not a conspiracy theorist btw...just not someone that jumps on the bandwagon of whatever is going on...at least not without proof that all the wheels are bolted on anyway, lol.

Why are you still talking to me about this? I've already answered you...I don't know anything about this. No one is questioning anyone's integrity...it has been pointed out that there have been cases in Alberta where there was a dire lack of integrity...you continue to ask for a link. I believe Stan Laurel answered you and asked you to google Jason Dix. I will bet all the answers to your questions will be there. Have a good night Otto, I'm off to bed. Sleep with angels.

The question was and remains, *in this specific case* what evidence is there to assert that the individuals responsible for *this case* have acted unethically and are therefore undeserving of our trust of the facts as they have been presented?

The comment was made regarding another case, not this one. Why do ask for evidence for this case? No one was talking about that. Just more pot stirring methinks. Goodnight news.talk...I'm going to bed. Have a nice night, you sleep with angels as well. :)

Exactly my point. The discussion at hand is homicide of AL, KL and NO. Unless there is a direct link to *this case* then the pot being stirred is not by me.

I think it is important to put actual links and examples in support of any assertions that someone has acted unethically, as blanket generalizations serve no purpose but to recklessly malign someone's character.

you are a reporter who also had a parent on the force, I see it as highly unlikely that you have never come across LE misconduct. If you spend sometime googling or asking your LE friends, you can find lots of info on this.

It's research information my pretty...any and all information pertaining to previous cases (especially in Alberta) should be allowed to be discussed. How else does one find precedents? Anyway, enough for me for today. You win...you're still standing...lol.

...and as such...no one would blame you if you were a wee bit biased? I probably would be. Just asking a question...not starting an argument or another episode of Blazing Saddles...

though, ya know, cps did say they used covert tactics (i.e., the night at the motel) in this investigation. I wonder if they used the reid interrogation method incorrectly too? I guess we will find out on court day.

I think that if there are any actions deemed unethical in this case it will be a long time from now before it is brought to light.

Jason Dix was in jail for 2 years before he was released so it didn't happen fast for him. That case was 15 years ago. Is that not the same Mr. Big that has recently been in the media?

ETA: I get it now... Lol!

There is misconduct in every industry and is certainly not indicative of just LE. What I have personally observed, is the great lengths they go through to uncover such actions and reprimand the officer. One of the first things they tell a new cadet is, you are not above the law, you are held to a higher standard as the example for the law. As the police are public servants, all actions are transparent and will be critiqued rigorously.

I have to say, of all the cities I have reported in, Calgary has some of the highest standards and steepest penalties for their officers.

I admit my bias, but my friends and family on this force would be the first to say that I am also their harshest critic. Besides, I base my assessments on facts, not wild speculation. I will not malign anyone without the facts to support my critique.

What is lost in all the personal issues, is the fact everyone is making a valid point.

There is no reason to doubt LE's interpretation of the evidence, but given past issues with various law enforcement agencies' statements later being proven false or incorrect, people are within their rights to withhold judgement until they see the facts themselves. Both sides are correct.

How hard is it to fake a death certificate? I dunno. Given the context of the conversation... words could have been chosen a little better, but if there was no accusation intended, then answer the question. Me? Like I said... I dunno. It's probably not relevant to this case anyway.

It's way too personal in here... lol... do like I do when getting personal, dig out the flogger. Make love, not war.

On a completely different train of thought,,, I was just having a talk with a friend about carrion either buried or exposed and he mentioned that even a little bit of remnant carrion will cause the snow on top to be more granule like. Many animals feed thru winter on snow buried carrion and even carrion buried in earth and then further snow covered by larger omnivores. Trained eyes can spot these subtle nuances in snow cover some may overlook. Being that we get that super fine dusty snow from hereon in till March, spotting warm spots where a grave might be is possible. When I fish in Summer, I take note of weed beds, as, in winter those weed beds rot and cause thinner ice at those parts of the lake that I avoid when ice fishing. So all is not lost in finding remains,, tracking tracks of wildlife might offer clues to whereabouts.

Sorry I can't produce a link on such learned things, but there you have it.

That's not something you hear everyday...

Where to look, for bodies or for granules, is still the biggest hurdle. LE has obviously exhausted their leads... I wonder how many land owners actually did a search of their properties when LE put out that request, and how thoroughly did they look? It will be unfortunate if they are found somewhere obvious or close by.

I suppose a light snow cover would offer the best visible signs, rather than deep snow... ?

Did anyone sign on as a searcher on the TOMNOD satellite service for finding the Malaysian aircraft? I think I might drop them a line on taking satellite pictures right now before the snow gets too thick,, who knows?

Does anyone know the name of the NOAA satellite that can detect extraordinarily minute temperature variations, I thought it was called Mopet? Darn, oh well I'll figure it out tomorrow.

Farmers think about it but rarely do city folk. I was talking some years back about the pacific gyre, that big patch of garbage going round and round. Some of us suggested sweeping the area with seining nets/vessels for gathering the larger bits. One person said "but the area is massive and it would take months". The area of farmland from Alberta to Manitoba is also massive, and farmers not only harvest it but also seed it and till it and so forth. The area is passed over 3 sometimes 4 times a season, one farmer I know turns three crops per season. In due time, something will rise and be spotted by someone.

Just a question to ponder, but do you believe that human beings who reside and work in Calgary are superior somehow from all of the other cities and provinces in our country? I believe that humans are humans, no matter where they work, no matter where they live, no matter where they may have moved from or to, and no matter which year it is. MOO.

.... Are there any cases of unethical prosecutors in Calgary in the last 20 years? I'm always assuming that we're discussing a case in Calgary, so when claims are made about problems in other parts of the country I'm a bit confused about how they relate to this case.
