For the new charges to be added tomorrow? I can't find anything that specifies a name.

Maybe someone local has time to sit in the courtroom until the case is heard?

The Garland acreage is within the Aidrie city limits.

I disagree. The Garland home is outside of the Airdrie city limits but is considered to be in Rockyview County.

Maybe it was because they had announced that they were leaving the country at the end of the month?

Yes, leaving for good perhaps. I don't believe family acquaintances would be privy to that information, JMO.

The police jumped on this case immediately. JO called the police after arriving at her parents house at 10am. AL's brother CL arrived before 12, to find the police all over the place and searching thoroughly. The brother was unaware of what was going on, which indicates that the police began their physical search before calling relatives to see if anyone could shed some light on where the missing three were. What ever was in that house must have been pretty convincing. The police have said right from the start that they dont believe that either grandparent was responsible- they are being treated as victims (be it of kidnapping, robbery or worse) as much as NO.

The police may or may not have shown the picture of the truck to family members before going public. This is a pretty big, blended family. The truck belongs to the brother of the wife of JO's step brother- who knows how close they are- JO and her step brother may never have lived in the same house, may not be really close. Even if they are- I couldn't tell you what my brothers wife's brother drives.

My gut feeling remains a robbery gone wrong. If DG was traveling past the house, he was possibly watching until no cars but the family vehicles were there. DG may or may not have been left financially disadvantaged by AL in the past, we dont know. However he has a history of mental health issues, has created a false identity (which he sometimes seems to confuse with his real identity) and his way of thinking may be very different to ours. If he is not thinking rationally, then his reasons for targeting the L family home may be reasons we wont necessarily understand. I think this will come down one way or another to the money- DG (or whoever) expected there to be cash, as they were about to leave town and had just had an estate sale. How much money, or what he was going to do with it we dont know. If someone has been mortally wounded, maybe removing them was meant to make it look domestic?

Yes that one Otto.
The one you posted.
The one I couldn't find, and you just went to it right away.
I'll claim that the numbness went from my fingers to my brain.
Thanks.

If police come after you, be sure to repeat these words and stay consistent.

What is the deal with this ... you can'tt start accusing members

What about in 1973. Were the Airdrie boundaries the same as today?

I saw you commented on the other page that you were referring to 1973. I didn't realize, thought you meant present-day. I have no idea what the boundaries were in 1973.

:offtobed:

Love having everyone involved in this case. I must admit, I drove from Kamloops-Vernon today and had my eyes out for "the truck". Apparently, no such luck. IMO, this case is not going to be an easy one to solve. Lots of "what ifs". LOVE IT. :D

The documents also detail other criminal charges against Garland including possessing a prohibited weapon and assault but those charges were thrown out.

The parole board said in its report:

"While the weapons and assault charges are indicative that you may commit a violent offence, given that you are 40 years of age and have never incurred a conviction for violence and in the absence of documented indicators of a propensity for violence, there are no reasonable grounds to believe release is likely to result in a violent crime prior to warrant expiry date."

Sorry for the confusions. Someone was curious about what high school the Garland children (Douglas and his sister) attended. I posted a link to Patti Garland at an Olds high school reunion. I wondered if they attended school in Olds because they were in the Rockyview County. It doesn't really matter where they went to school.

Thanks but that makes no mention of it just the MKH ID. There was a tweet earlier by Meghan Grant of CBC stating he was in possession of a bank card..... That's what I am after. As we all know LE has avoided questions throughout about wallets, etc belonging to AL and KL. Instinct tells me the bank card could belong to one of them. Think about it.... That would be a massive breakthrough.

I wonder what was the reasoning behind AL's truck being taken away? Do LE believe DG may have been in AL's truck that night? Did DG show up at their door that night asking to borrow money or payment of money owed? He would have done it on a friendly note, not to raise any suspicions with KL. Did AL and DG leave to go to the bank in AL's truck but they never made it there, DG murdered AL, got rid of him then drove AL's truck back to the house to take KL and NO? When he got back to the house, KL knew something was wrong and trying to fight DG off getting critically wounded or worse? Whoever did this and left with the three victims, I just don't see the victims going willingly and the perp taking that risk. JMO.

I like the way you think.
Also...the disappearance took place the last day of the month. Was there a major debt due on July 1. Seems that weeks leading up to the disappearance, there was desperation for quick cash flow, sell it all, flyers distributed from casinos where they had likely hoped to hit the big one, opening home to strangers in hopes of making some quick cash. Was the estate sale their last ditch effort to pay someone they owed and time just merely ran out?

JMO

This is another strange thing about the timing. I vaguely remember something early on about when they leased the house back (after the sale) it was for six months. I can't remember where I saw it, if it was here? But I remember thinking why wasn't there arrangements made for them to be somewhere else that night, then? If they were selling everything and it was expected that they would be without the majority of their stuff, why plan to stay in a sparsely furnished house? Unless they didn't have the money to make those arrangements. It's just so strange.

Surely I wasn't serious and didn't expect to be taken so. Sorry...

Now question: I would think there should be more than a few sightings of green pickup trucks that look like the one shown by the police; did LE go after any of the others than Garland's?

The charge is one of false ID, not stolen property.
