Things I mulled over when I couldn't sleep last night:

-The initial confusion of family members at the initial press conference who stumbled over saying where AL and KL were thinking of moving.
What caused their confusion?

1. The L's had no firm plans, but had just spoke of what they'd dream doing.
2. The L's had firm plans.
3. The L's had firm plans that the family was aware of and feared they left deliberately.

-If the spending summers in Edmonton and winters in Mexico is correct I would surmise that AL wanted to leave Calgary. What we don't know is what KL thought of that. Her daughter/grandchildren were all in Calgary. She has a son in Calgary who recently graduated University. The "second mother" of NO would surely miss these kids. However, we just went through one of the worst winters on record. Mexico may have looked real good to KL.

-AL's company folds 5 days before he goes missing. All 8 employees are done working by June 25.

-The whereabouts of AL's twin. The whereabouts of AL's twin's passport. How soon were the borders secured? There was certainly enough time to cross before the Amber Alert went out.

-Why is this search only in Airdrie? Why not Edmonton as well? Are the Edmonton police involved in any way?

Hoping for more answers than questions today. :waitasec:

Well , marking my spot is not accurate. I'm ' subscribing' to the new thread because the one in my list was the closed thread because so many posts are zooming by on this one. Also, I'm a dummy with most of the features on this site :)

The "subscribe" button is under the "thread tools", right beside "view first unread". You just need to click the subscribe button, no need to add a post to the thread.

Those parents are not dealing with a normal/natural situation. After my daughter and my son died I found myself at times referring to them in present tense ... when obviously that was not the case. It's a mixed bag of emotions that no parent should ever have to experience. I feel the mom is aware of a reality that her child may never come home, while hoping beyond hope that is not the case. I don't think we can or should judge her based on an odd-placed word. We observed many more odd-placed words and situations with Tori's mom and it ultimately proved not to be the case.

I agree sillybilly, I still talk of family members who have passed in the present tense. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Not sure if everyone is aware of the Calgary crime map put out by Calgary Police Services. I check my neighbourhood religiously as we've had crime increase in particular house break-ins since last years flood. It is updated I believe almost every day.

It's a fantastic tool Daisy. Thank you. Just saw it on another forum and I'm astounded to see how much crime there has been in Parkhill over the last 3 months.

it's hard to escort someone to a bank to withdraw cash without being filmed,, if dg was at a distance to avoid being filmed, al could have called for help or called kl or the police. if any money changed hands it was the estate money from that day. I don't think dg was hard up for cash though and the money was for skip-town documents.

what part of your body can you bleed profusely from yet heal quickly? nose bleeds can be quite gushy as well as cuts to the top of the hand.

did dg pick up some keepsakes that weren't sold, before arranging for the likneses to skip-town?

A mouth wound, specifically lips and tongue will bleed profusely. If an individual had a hemangioma (which is extremely vascular) they could bleed out if it suffered trauma.

This almost 11 minute video/discussion is worth listening to. Especially when Ross Mc talks about how the family members acted during presser. MOO.

http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/sunnews/canada/archives/2014/07/20140706-144227.html

At approximately the mid way point the guest speaker mentioned Ross Mc mentioned a shooting incident of a linknes family member who was sentenced to 8 years and was released January 2014, do we know what this was about and who the person was that was sentenced for the shooting of the family member

I believe this refers to EL and her ex boyfriend shooting her. Here is a link to one of the articles pertaining to it.

Should also mention EL is AL's daughter from first marriage.

Has the ambulance been on site any other days when they have been searching?

I haven't had too much time to spend here the past couple days and don't know if this article has been posted yet, but found these snippets from CB's article interesting. Interesting...so I wonder if he had ever been in an automobile accident or was using that as some sort of excuse for gaining sympathy or an excuse for his mental state. JMO.

Under an “accelerated parole review” program, which no longer exists, Garland was eligible for parole after serving just a sixth of his 39-month sentence.

But the documents also refer to several criminal charges for violence Garland once faced, a two-decades long record for property offences and ongoing “mental health concerns.”

A Postmedia News story from the drugs trial noted that the meth cook, as drug makers are called, had studied science at the University of Alberta but was expelled after being caught cheating.

Yet some who knew Garland in those days say they never heard of him being involved in such an accident.
