Two wheel dolly. Wonder if one was at the home? Or if one was at the farm? Very easy to move really heavy items with it.

I see no reason why the grandparents couldn't have been loaded onto the back of a truck by one person. Heck, my daughter might be 120lbs soaking wet, thin build, yet she lifts 50lb bags of animal feed and stocks shelves for hours!! I'm much larger, and have difficulty loading a few 50lb bags into my vehicle. So I don't think the size of the person has much to do with how much they can lift!

It is called decency and respect for your loved ones that have passed away.

See, I am not seeing it completely that way. A crime scene has to be cleaned professionally. From what I understand insurance would cover that (I would assume that the home is insured by the new owners and hope that there is rental insurance from the Liknes'.

I am not sure what decency has to do with being fully responsible for what happened, I believe that decency would be NOT having a person who is grieving have to deal with this sort of thing. It seems heinous to me to expect them to deal with everything in the house. As I said earlier, It would be best if this family retained some sort of council to speak for them... not just joe blow neighbour.

And , I am not sure what he means by... there a lot of costs that the public could not understand. Tell us what costs they have and need covered. People are willing to donate, tell them that they need a storage locker.

I think you are onto something... if they were moving, they may have this for sale of items to load them up.

One other thing, As sick as it sounds, is that bodies may not have been together at the time of movement.

It is the crime scene. How did someone enter, where were the victims, where might they have been attacked, how were they removed from the home ... what happened at the crime scene?

Sorry to post this photo but I had not seen it before. What I find striking is how athletic his forearms appear to be and his general fit stature.

I was also surprised. He is a strong, lean guy and likely extremely fit (physically I hasten to add). My son has this type of physique and is exceptionally strong despite the absence of bulging muscles.

The costs given in the article are: memorial; moving and storage costs; legal and estate fees. They've raised $24,000 now, it seems.

All I can say is that when this case finally goes to trial, I will be glued to the twitter feed. It is captivating. It makes no sense to me at all. None of it, no matter how much sleuthing is done, I can't find any straight lines.

Time off from work ... I'm assuming even with the great benefits at Cenovus they'll need more time than covered. Time off work to attend a trial, child care during trial ... a few things I can think of.

I don't understand why the house contents would be put in storage either, but perhaps the family needs time before they deal with it. There are a total of six children that need to work it out together.

Actually storage is a good idea....

1...there are a number of children and who really wants to try and sort out who gets what right now....

When my Dad passed away of natural causes...it took a while to reach that...finality....

This poor family...doesn't have that yet...in fact IIRC....they or some of the family won't accept this until they actually find them....

Whoever bought the home will want their property.....and legally the family would have to remove contents as soon as they can....*I'm sure the new owners aren't 'pushing' them to remove everything but....* it has to be done.

So to me....I think JMOO...move everything into storage.....they can deal with it later *& for some of the family...in the hopes that all of K & A's things are in one place for them if they came back alive*

I know personally ....even in a natural death....with none of what this family is going through....it's very hard to deal .....not for a little while anyways IMO...

ETA: Should have read a couple more pages....what I was trying to say has pretty much been said ...

I understand decency and respect but the initial conversation was about family needing money to cover the costs and merely pointing out that they are in no way responsible for costs.

IMO the living deserve more decency and respect than the dead and that they should in no way feel obligated to do any of it.

If they choose to that is fine. But they don't HAVE to.

I think you should edit your prev post to say it's not correct. Coincidentally that Realtor was my parent's realtor ... small world!

Also the physical addresses are actually quite far away if you think of the grid system.

There are professional cleaners that have posted below the donation page offering to do it. Only close family will know what is sentimental, and can be supervised by family. And while this is a tough and devastating time, at least one family member has expressed the need for help. I doubt they will be expected to deal with everything on their own.
