NEW GLASGOW – A group of volunteers will spend Saturday afternoon removing candles, flowers and condolences left on a wall in New Glasgow for the late Amber Kirwan.
Mariea Leil-Browser, who organized the volunteer centre to help find Kirwan after she went missing on Oct. 9, has assembled a group to collect the items from the property owned by the Spears family.
“I was contacted about the wall the day before Amber’s funeral by an individual who was contacted by the Spears,” said Leil-Bowser. “Up until that point, like many others, I was not aware that it was the Spears’ property that the kids had set a wall of hope for Amber on the day she went missing, nor was I aware that Mrs. Spears had passed.”
Leil-Browser sent her condolences to the Spears family through the individual.
“I agreed that the area had to be cleaned up as it is the Spears’ property and I also asked if they would thank the Spears for me personally for allowing the wall of hope to be there for as long as they have.”
