Oceansalt, if you are around, could you please let us know if the property in question is anywhere near where "A" or "B" are marked in the following

MAP: http://g.co/maps/6jy3m

Thanks so much in advance

Just got back online to see this news. This is very sad and my thoughts are with Amber's family and friends.

Rest peacefully Amber - you will be missed greatly. Hopefully there is enough investigative evidence to move swiftly towards justice and let it be served without delay.

There have been multiple articles posted about where Amber's body was found. Near a sheep farm in the area, police are stationed at the entrance to a long road leading onto a property.

I can only find one sheep farm in the area and there is a long road leading to the property. The address of the sheep farm is available on the internet and is listed as 627 Heathbell Road, Scotsburn, B0K 1R0.

Here is a close up map which shows the area ..... Oceansalt is this the property?

I too believe that is the sheep farm so IMO, the 'road" could be where I marked "B"

I have marked with a yellow circle the "wooded area" where in MOO the remains might have been found -- PLEASE Oceansalt, could you PLEASE confirm for us?

I see there is a small pond there as well.

Here is the Google Map link: http://g.co/maps/qqdyc

Based on the MSM article mentioning that Heathbell is a gravel road, I think it may be over on that side of Heathbell. The other direction appears to be paved? It's hard to tell b/c zooming in makes it blurry but that's what it appears to me. Of course I'm not local and am just speculating like the rest of you. Hopefully Oceansalt will confirm it.

And here is the shape of the property for the farm which can be related to the Google maps.

Does anyone know if MC's car was returned?

bbm

It was reported in the NG news that his car was returned - this is in one of the older links.

Thanks, elepher. I found the older article. It was published on Oct 25 so I guess if it was returned on the previous Sunday, then that would be Oct 23.

Leil Bowser said Campbell’s car, which was seized by police on Oct. 16, was returned to him this past Sunday.

Const. Ken MacDonald of the New Glasgow Police Service said police could not comment on Campbell’s statement.

Right! the "gravel road" mention is a bit confusing; they seem to be saying paved Heathbell turns into gravel road Heathbell, but as you said, it's blurry and is hard to notice any difference.
**waiting for Oceansalt to confirm*

In the meantime, I made this other map, showing that the distance between where Amber was last seen in the surveillance video and the Heathbell area is about 30 minutes drive.

:waitasec: I wonder if the perp(s) just turned left on Provost and crossed the East River right there and then, or if he/they took that route much later?

The gravel road is clearly visible in this new map, and is also the area that was mentioned being searched weeks ago (Scotch Hill)

There are a couple farms there, though not sure if those are sheep farms.

Marked in orange circle a wooded area off that gravel road, where " A " is marked

The police said "no apparent connection to the property."

I wanted to know what FB'ers were saying. One said, (paraphrasing that MC has an Aunt & Uncle and family have camps in that area.

It is so quiet & peaceful here compared to the chaos over there...oh my. I don't know if it is always like that, today was my first visit. https://www.facebook.com/board.php?uid=2381342576#!/groups/161704880590008/

A life much too short....

Rest in peace, Amber :rose:

My condolences to Amber's family, friends and the Pictou community. I hope that justice is served quickly. Amber's loved ones have been through too much already. Please don't let this drag on much longer.

Population of only 60-70 people, wow.

The area is not under New Glasgow police jurisdiction, but an RCMP police officer said at the scene that the New Glasgow force was there because its search and rescue vehicle was in use.

The remains were discovered early in the afternoon in near-freezing weather conditions. At about the time of the discovery, radio silence was ordered, according to area residents who follow police frequencies.

From Wondergirl's link
Rudolph would not say where on the property the discovery was made.

"Property would be generally described as the four corners of your lot and everything relating to it," he said.

Properties in the area are generally made up of a combination of woodland, farmland and small homes. The community of Heathbell has a population of 60 to 70 and is largely a farming community, with a sheep farm very near to where the discovery was made.

"There’s a few houses on either side going down the road. It’s mainly wooded," one neighbour, who didn’t wish to be named, said of the stretch of Heathbell Road where the remains were found.
