Here is what a 2002 Impala looks like (image snagged from the Internet)- this is just to give an idea of what the car that was seized may look like.

Police execute search warrant at Heathbell Road home

There is breaking news tonight in the Amber Kirwan investigation.

CTV News has learned police executed a search warrant at a residence on Heathbell Road late Tuesday afternoon, not far from where Kirwan's remains were found on the weekend.

The warrant was issued around 4 p.m. this afternoon, but police aren't saying much about the search. They also aren't saying much about a car that was seized Monday afternoon.

"There has been a 2002 grey Chev Impala that has been seized as the result of a warrant, and that vehicle was seized at approximately 4:15 p.m.," confirms Rudolph. "The vehicle is now being examined for evidentiary purposes."

But police aren't saying who owns the car, or where it was seized.

Interesting - a Heathbell Rd home? Now I'm wondering if it's possible that perhaps she *wasn't* there in the woods this entire time.

The RCMP announced at a press conference today that a vehicle, a 2002 Grey Chevy Impala, was seized in connection with the Amber Kirwan case. Police remain tight lipped about the location and owner of the vehicle, but multiple sources are suggesting the seizure happened on Vale Road just before dusk.

Witnesses say the vehicle's interior was covered in plastic, and that the vehicle's owner looked on from their front steps as the Police prepared to remove the vehicle from the property. Sources also say Police had search dogs on this same street during the day Sunday.

Any guesses on who it might be? Is it someone she knew or a stranger?

Police search mobile home in Kirwan case
November 8, 2011
UPDATED: 9:06 p.m.
HEATHBELL — Pictou County RCMP swooped in Tuesday on a mobile home on a dirt road near Scotsburn, not far from where Amber Kirwan’s body was discovered on the weekend.

Local residents said a trailer on Hardwood Hill Road, which intersects Heathbell Road, was the subject of an intense search starting late Tuesday afternoon.

At dusk, eight to 10 RCMP cruisers were at the mobile home, where a woman named Alice Meier lives, neighbours said.

It’s believed Meier is the sister of Chris Alexander Falconer, one of two men convicted of second-degree murder in the 1998 killing of a cab driver on Heathbell Road.

Earlier Tuesday, police said they had seized a grey 2002 Chevrolet Impala late Monday afternoon as part of the investigation into the murder of Kirwan, a 19-year-old Pictou Landing woman.

Is Chris Falconer the one that was out on parole since the spring??
NOTE:
The article spells the last name as Muir, which apparently is incorrect. While the paper is advised of the mistake, I have already made the corrections here, before I can no longer edit my post.

Wow. Thanks for posting the clip that you did. I saw the article but stopped reading when I saw her name, trying to google it for any connection. I totally missed it being CF's sister.

This is not looking good.

From Hazel's link above in post 493:

An area resident who wished to remain anonymous told The Chronicle Herald that both searches were concentrated in a particular area around an old logging road and police had talked to people who live in the area.

The resident also saw the Impala driving in the area on the day searchers first came to Heathbell Road three weeks ago.

I read CF's name on FB earlier, but I had no idea that his sister was involved. Do you think she had any idea or is an accomplice in any way? Is it possible that she was jealous and asked her brother to "help her out" with getting rid of Amber whom she viewed as a problem???

So what is the connection? Is there any or was Amber at the wrong place at the wrong time? I can't figure this out.

I know some criminals aren't very smart, but really --- who would commit a crime after being released for a murder sentence, only to leave the body near their home? Honestly. I really don't get it.

So what is the connection? Is there any or was Amber at the wrong place at the wrong time? I can't figure this out.

I am also not understanding a connection. Anyone know?

I DO remember this name coming up very early on as potential due to the previous murder committed by him. Does he or his sister have a connection to Amber though?

Sorry if I am being dense lol.
