Awesome to hear she was found okay and happy to hear there is no connection to this. My boyfriend was concerned since it was so close to Halifax (his hometown) so I was checking for him.

I know I am late to the party and all but I feel something is up with MC even if CF was involved or not. I mean if he wanted to marry Amber or whatever, there would be more emotion out of him than I see. I am not sure but this whole deal is awfully odd IMHO with the police being hushing about CF's arrest on a parole violation. It seems a little too coincidental for me unless like someone else said that they may take action after they put Amber to her final resting place. I can see that seeing the town is close knit & they want no vigilante emotions running hostile against someone.

Yeah my bf & I were having a discussion over it the last week or so and he even says he'd lose it if I went missing; bawling, being in isolation, stay in bed all day, etc. Also if I never arrived somewhere to meet up with him within an hour without notice from me in a phone call or email, he'd freak and call all our friends & family, not wait to call people the next morning when it would be too late.

That's the thing that is getting me with MC. Why was it he was waiting for that little of time at B.A's according to the store owner? Something smells like manure here with MC, not trying to assume that he was involved.

Where the second car was seized is not that far from Heathbell..its just a short jaunt across back roads. It sounds like it was stopped and taken ,not from a property. It would be maybe 5 mins from Heathbell... Update: A news report stated the car was taken from a property by a flatbed tow truck,

Amber is a very beautiful girl. Waiting and walking outside at night near a pool hall...not safe at all. I hope everyone at the pool hall that night has been interviewed. Was CF there, I wonder?

Kirwan family invites county to attend daughter's funeral

New Glasgow - A funeral service for Amber Kirwan on Saturday will be open to the public.

Mariea Leila Bowser, a spokeswoman for the Kirwan family, said parents of the 19-year-old girl whose remains were found in Heathbell last weekend, are concerned that people will believe rumours circulating throughout the county that her funeral will be a private event.

"The Kirwans want everyone to know Amber's funeral is open to the public,"she said.

She also added that rumours circulating that another memorial service will be held after the funeral Saturday are false.

"There is no memorial service planned in Carmichael Park or any park," she said.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton, with Father Bill Rankin presiding. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.​

STELLARTON - As mourners entered Our Lady of Lourdes Church Saturday morning to lay Amber Kirwan to rest, her family sent a message that this was a time to honour her life.

Kirwan's cousin, Tara Costen, read a statement on behalf of the family priorto the start of the funeral.

"Words cannot express our heartbreak, our sorrow, or our profound sense of loss," she read from a prepared statement, as mourners - many wearing green ribbons, a symbol seen many times over the past month to mark the search for Kirwan, on their lapels.

While Amber’s death was senseless and tragic, it is important today that we honour the life she lived and the memories we have made.
Words cannot express our heartbreak, our sorrow, or our profound sense of loss. Amber was a wonderful daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend and girlfriend.
Today we remember Amber’s warmth, her vitality, her love of life and the joy she brought to all of us.
The mayor of New Glasgow recently said that Amber has become Pictou County’s daughter. We are proud to share Amber’s legacy with the community and we would like to thank everyone for their support during this extremely difficult time.
Thank you for being here today and for helping us remember a truly special girl who will never be forgotten by those who knew her, or by those who came to know her through the most tragic of circumstances.​
