Hard to make out what's what with all this cell tower information. But this specialist seems to know what he is talking about. One thing though. They are saying TR sent a text to CF at 1:46am but earlier they said it was CF sending a text to TR saying "hey" ... Supposedly responding to a text from an hour or two earlier.... This is getting to hard to follow.. Really think we are only getting small bits of what is actually happening in court room!

Yes, this stuff takes some time to go through.

I think it's hard for the reporters to tweet it out with 100% accuracy. They have to be fast and sometimes it's easy to make just a type with dates and times.

The Pictou Advocate article might be one to watch to confirm some of this stuff for us.

It's not always the first one out, though. Sometimes it's late before I can find it.

You are correct. No one has answered any of those question or the crown has not answered them for the jury. I don'see anything so far that is worthy of not leaving anyone wihout a reasonable doubt.

I don't know how much the info at this link would have changed since 2004, but my guess is not much.

Most times there is no smoking gun. Circumstantial evidence should be given the same weight as forensic evidence.

The jury is not required to leave their brains and common sense on the other side of the jury room door.

Except he didn't come through with it.

Tracking locations through cell phone towers is really not new technology-based testimony.

That is highly accurate technology.

In large cities where the population is dense and the cell towers are plentiful, your location can accurately be pinpointed within feet.

Cell towers can also have sectors in them, and which sector your phone pings from is what makes them so accurate.

The problem with the Hardwood Hill Road area is that the single tower covers such a large area, probably due to the scant population. It's usage probably doesn't require the sectors, or didn't in 2011; but the info given in Robert Aboumitri testimony is solid testimony.

I know it has been used in US court cases, and I'm certain it must have been used before in Canadian court cases.
