To nic - yes, it's only for newly built homes!! :)

OK, for some unknown reason I went back to read Lee Mellor's blog:

http://mellortalksmurder.blogspot.com/?zx=aa9656b0f24ed661

This part jumped out at me:

Residence: Thankfully, here I can be much more specific. I can confidently state that the UNSUB will either live within a 10 KM radius of the Gleave residence (probably close to the centre), OR will have had a reason to visit the area on multiple occasions. The most plausible explanation is to see family. Visiting friends or work obligations are less likely possibilities. We must always keep in mind that Audrey Gleave was murderered over the holiday season.

Seems we have as many interpretations as we have posters. :) So, here's my take:

Because LM states that seeing family is the most plausible, I believe he means that this person comes to the area to visit family and would be even MORE likely to do so over the holiday season.

For example, we know that PK does not live in the immediate area but has family close by. Presumably he and AK would spend time with his folks over the holidays. We know that he originally planned to deliver the cake on Christmas Day, so it seems he was in the area or had plans to be in the area at least on Christmas Day (possibly longer if staying with family?)

So as not to have tunnel vision here, there is also a possibility that neighbours would be having family and friends visiting over the holidays ... people that were not normally in the neighbourhood.

JMO ... i know squat ;)

Going back to someone waiting in the house for AG to return with her dogs and for her to crate them - have never met a german shepherd that would allow that to happen.

I do like the idea though that someone could have been in her house for some time after the dogs were crated and sending Amazing Grace as an SOS - it has been said that truth is stranger than fiction.

Still bugs me that the Amazing Grace email was not sent to LV (that we know of).

ETA: Are you guys noticing how dark it gets now and how early the darkness sets in?

Indeed, which just made me think:

There may be benefits to committing murder early on a winter evening. The killer could still leave the scene under the cover of darkness, and then blend into regular traffic. Plus he could stop for gas, a coffee, burger etc. without standing out.

Leaving an area late at night, especially a quiet one, might make you stand out more. Especially if you wanted to stop somewhere after. And there's a greater chance you may get pulled over at that time of night (especially with a holiday season RIDE program in effect).

I don't think the perp would be waiting in the house whilst AG was at the vet. If he saw her leave with the dogs he knew she would be away for a while. He could tackle an entrance , door or window to break into. When she came back he could then wait for her to get ready to retire and when she crated the dogs break in.

Awesome point! That could very well be the case.

Nice score! That's like a full feature movie compared to what we've seen b4.
(Why didn't we get that kind of coverage on CHCH ?)

...and how did we miss this video clip?!?!?!?!

I was looking for something else when I spotted it. By the way, right after the video ends, there is a video clip of Sonia Varaschin's Memorial - just posted the link into her thread as well -- am wondering who the gentlemen with gray hair is...her bf maybe?

Is someone encouraging this forum to continue to run with great ideas? All the ideas so far are quite plausible.

Hazel thanks for finding this video ,I found it interesting that AG's ex considered himself "her only family" and I wonder how the women in the area "living alone" enjoyed having that info. broadcast by the male neighbour who said something like it made him feel "hollow inside"...

Thanks again for sticking your neck out to get that info LilyMB! Now I wonder if the "trophy" is back to being something more macabre or unusual

Indeed, libyana it is a very sad, lonely time for many. I remember two Midnight Masses I attended years apart. One when I was very young a guy (arsonist) set fire to our church and burned it to the ground.

Then, after I was married we decided to try Midnight Mass again and there was a stabbing in the church!

Perhaps this helps explain one of the many reasons I left Catholicism and converted to Buddhism!! :)

ETA: Are you guys noticing how dark it gets now and how early the darkness sets in?

Umm, I guess that is not an experience you would like to Repeat !!

great video! what strikes me is how little snow cover there was so it must have been so dark around her house. I would guess she would not bother with christmas lights.

  • #575
By the way, who would know what the trophy was if it was'nt something physical.
Iwonder if it could have been a photo, maybe the one where she was young building the t.v. Her friends would be aware of that if she had one around.

Can somebody else help me out here ...

In the video Hazel just posted, at the 2:39 mark where the female officer is photographing outside the garage, it appears there is a blue tarp on the other side of the downspout. It seems she is aiming her camera directly at it. Is it some fluke within the video or ???

Don't know if these are pertinent or not, or if they've been dealt with before:

1) From a gun forum where a username baryon (from Ontario) is interested in buying a pistol in 2007:

http://www.taurusarmed.net/forums/member-introduction/2514-newbie-canada.html

2) From the same forum, all baryon posts (3 pages) with the last being 12-14-2010 ! Seems to have purchased a gun. One post on page 2 says baryon is eagerly waiting for a gun, and wonders about taking it apart (AG liked taking things apart)

http://www.taurusarmed.net/forums/search.php?searchid=159358

3) This is from another Canadian gun forum also from 2007. Seems to be the same baryon form Ontario:

New from Ontario - CanadianGunNutz.com

4) From the same forum, discussing gun testing (has a gun at this point I believe cuz baryon mentions doing a test) :

PAL,RPAL pratical exam - CanadianGunNutz.com

(I haven't seen what the last post is for the canadiangunnutz forum, cuz you have to join to get access to that info)

Maybe it's not AG, but if it was why was she buying a gun in 2007? Who was she protecting herself from? (new neighbor, other neighbor, PK whom she met in 2006?, other?)

WOW, thanks to Hazel for the vid find! Thanks to nicgumshoe for the 'baryon' + gun site find! Great work, guys!! :tyou:

OK, A few comments:

1. The young, blonde woman says that whilst riding her bike the dogs "would run right out". Does she mean that the dogs were outdoors, roaming about when she rode by on her bike? Or, did the dogs merely come to the door barking loudly? Either way, it shows that AG let the dogs have the run of the house/yard when AG was at home.

2. I doubt the man (aged 50-60?) is a suspect. He's close but not young. Also, I imagine he's already had a polygraph and passed with flying colours! (I'm still going with the FBI guy on 'young and close').

3. Now about the 'baryon' person and the gun sites! First, really how many people would use a login name of "baryon"? And I noticed it's with a small "b" just as AG used in her email accounts! Yes, I know, email accounts are all done with small letters. That said, this "baryon" could have used the login name of "Baryon" IF it is not AG herself!

So much interesting stuff, people!!:)

Good find! It might be AG, on one thread the poster was asking about grip size. From what I understand, that can be a problem for some women (and for men with smaller hands).

Good questions too! I have no idea.

for NSU - I've found some other users (so far, 1 in Arizona, 1 in Seattle and 1 in the UK) that use that login, and they've used both 'B' and 'b'. I have to stop looking now and get ready for work... *sigh*

Oh, I almost forgot - in the new vid I noticed more about AG's car. It has the black stripe on the hood and it has what GM calls racing tires. This tells me that it's really a FAST car - most likely a Z28 with a V8 engine.

The Z28 is often called the "baby 'Vette" because of its speed, its heaviness, its 'kick-a**' attitude!

Good for Audrey - I'm so happy she had such a cool toy! :)
