This is really hard trying to keep info in the right thread with the geographical connections between Sonia's murder in Orangeville, Shelley's attack in Mono, and Audrey's murder in Ancaster. For now, i'll just say that JV has definite and strong ties to Lake Couchiching in Orillia (you may recall that Sonia had ties to Camp Couchiching).

It just so happens I looked into this earlier this am during a rain storm. Will try and put the various aspects into perspective.

One caution - an arrest for an assault does not mean guilt. We have the DLS experience for that here - I can show that the Orillia assault and arrest of Lucas Thibodeau might fall into the same category.

On 1 Feb 2013 a resolution was reported to be near in the violent sexual assault in Orillia behind the Metro store, where Lucas Thibodeau had been charged.

The resolution did not happen according to another article I read earlier today but having trouble finding the article now. The latest article stated the case was headed for trial. If there was a resolution, it would have happened by now.

My impression on the later article was, there was no evidence against this person as he was led to believe in the beginning. How many times have we seen someone take a plea when innocent as they do not have the resources to do otherwise? Ontario pathologist Dr Smith?

Will keep looking (wish I had posted earlier this am!) but the case is not resolved.

Not sure about anyone else, but it's difficult for me to fathom a sexual assault can happen behind a store for example and no DNA at all can be found. No bodily fluids, no hair, no skin cells under the victims fingernails etc.

Seems to me, one needs a shower available or at least a hose for no DNA to be found.

Will hold any thoughts on LT in reserve until a trial takes place or he confesses with full details. The DLS fiasco, among many others, leads me to be patient with LE claims.

Well, it's now been speculated that a certain JV is gay, a pedophile, a serial killer and a thief. Sure hope someone can verify if the two JV's are one and the same.

On another note, although this could be meaningless, sometime ago I asked the Beckett-Glaves Funeral Director why AG's Memorial video had been taken down from their site. I asked if it was a glitch, or perhaps the police ordered it done. His response was that the only person who could ask that it be removed was the person in charge of the arrangements. I have since wondered why she felt the need to do this.

Something is bugging me about the nature of the internet luring JV is alleged to have committed. I can't put my finger on it (ahem .. nor would i want to), but WHY the specific interest and such insistence bordering on desperation in receiving a close-up pic of the victim's (?) genitals? If someone is gay and looking for a gay relationship, how does a visual of the potential victim's body parts factor into this type of situation? I'm straight and if I was on the internet looking for a relationship, the last thing in the world I would ask for, let alone be interested in, would be a pic of that potential partner's genitals. Clue me in folks ... am I old-fashioned, asexual, weird, or what??

We don't know what injuries were involved with either Sonia or Shelley, but we certainly know LE specified a "sexual component" in Audrey's case, and there is the RUMOUR wrt body parts. (BTW, I have also heard from another individual who lives in Audrey's area and has heard the same rumour around town).

JV's presumed acquaintance with Audrey makes him a POI in her case, and his geographical proximity in the other 2 cases raises suspicion of his possible involvement. Maybe we're wrong, but if we aren't ... how would we correlate that interest in male genitalia in the internet luring case with the possible removal of female body parts in Audrey's case, but what we know only as aggravated assault / murder in the other two cases involving females if there is no indication of body parts having been paid any special attention?

From what I have heard from my daughter, it is becoming common for guys on dating sites (Plenty of Fish etc.) to send pictures of their genitals. I know--disgusting, but not unusual.

I don't want to speculate about anything. I like facts. JV was arrested for trying to lure a minor (male) for a "rendezvous". He is in jail. Has not gone to trial and as such, remains innocent of said crime.

His FB page doesn't really have that many "likes" if one is to look at the average FB site. Many of his (JV's) "likes" are related to horses/equine -based. A few others are not. The ones that are not include:

I have no idea if JV is gay or not and frankly, make no judgement on his potential orientation...However, I would think myself quite stupid if I didn't think that there was a damn good chance he is.

Who are you referring to when you say "the two JV's"??? There is no doubt that the JV in the facebook page that has been linked here is related to LV (AG's friend). Is that what you are questioning? If so, please take the time to go back to page 9 of this thread and read forward for a couple of hours.

There is lots of information on this thread that will answer your doubts.

Yes, he was arrested...And supposedly, a resolution was to be forthcoming last May. This is the last that has been posted on the matter:

As Woodland replied to your post, there has not been a single post "speculating" that JV is gay until your post. He's been arrested and charged with luring a (male) minor which indicates that he might be a pedophile. No one has suggested that he's a serial killer or a thief??? (I don't even understand the thief bit since none of the cases in question (AG, SV or SL) had anything to remark that something had been stolen.)

Your post confuses and obfuscates the facts that many of us have been trying to share. We don't have answers, we're trying to find them.

Whoa on the 'Golden Girls' and other posted items!

I agree on the orientation - let's hear from him on that someday, should he choose to share that. In the meantime the crime he is charged with needs to be dealt with.
