Did everyone give up?

Was there any gas left in Audreys Camaro? IIRC somewhere I thought I'd read that someone tampered with the gear shift. Forgive me if this is incorrect!

Also cannot help but think the damage to the mailbox was significant and related somehow. Seems to be a thing of the past but I know out in rural areas, people like to joyride and smash mailboxes with baseball bats. Not sure why AG would have been targeted? (IMO some of her comments, routines, etc according to PK make me wonder if she didn't rub someone the wrong way). FWIW!

Oh, that’s interesting. At the time of the murder, I was a devoted GM driver. I had a Corvette. You’d think I would remember all things car related but I don’t recall this about her car. I DO recall something about her car being tampered with. Perhaps the trunk, the entry system?

I asked PK if Audrey had OnStar and he said no. The OnStar system would have been a font of information.

This gives me another question. The Camaro AG drove would have needed a remote door opener if she had locked it. Was the car locked? And if it was locked, the alarm system would have gone off if the killer had touched the vehicle. Also, it would have sounded if her body fell against the car.

A private person, Gleave kept many details of her life and past hidden — even from those closest to her.
She once told her ex-brother-in-law she feared she would one day be raped and murdered in her home.
In a 2011 interview with The Hamilton Spectator, Allan Gleave said his ex-wife was “paranoid” because she lived alone. In fact, she did not want many people to know her email address and had stopped communicating with his brother after he might have disclosed it, he said.''

Something never made sense to me. When I asked PK if there was OnStar set up on AGs car he said he « never saw the blue button ». That’s impossible in my experience with GM. Even if a car owner doesn’t want the OnStar to be functional, the blue button is still there from the factory. It’s up to the owner to have it working.

Did LE check the odometer to see how far AG drove on her final trip in that car? And speaking of tampering, was her gas tank tampered with? In my experience, you need the remote car opener with you in order to open the gas tank. Could the killer have taken the car/forced AG to drive somewhere prior to her murder?

How long before the murder did AG buy gas? Did she use a credit card OR can she be identified from the gas station. Did she frequent a certain gas station where workers would know/remember when she was there last?

For some reason, I feel the car had something to do with the killer. Did AG upset someone by showing off in her hot car? Some folks don’t like the idea of a « little old lady » in a muscle car.

Thinking out loud here.

We had some speculation on Audrey's thread earlier that Dellen Millard and his gang could be implicated..... Remember that the vile Millard and sidekick Mark Smich murdered Ancaster's Tim Bosma for the dear man's diesel truck..... Millard was using his family's air hangar as a chop shop for stolen vehicles, parts, and VIN numbers. I remember one of DM's associates on Facebook had a camaro featured and there was some discussion here in the thread if Audrey's sports car could have been a primary motive (alongside other twisted reasons in these cases).
I don't know if LE ever responded as to whether DM and crew were investigated in relation to Audrey's case. It would be great for a journo to ask and report on that.

I forgot to add above that Millard is indeed a Canadian serial killer. Following the Bosma case, he was investigated and convicted in the murders of his former GF Laura Babcock and his father, Wayne Millard (originally declared a suicide). He got away with those 2 cases for years. Have we missed something else?

Oh I remember Dellen Millard and he’s horrible. For some reason, I never tied him in with AG. I aways felt AGs killer was more personal to her, someone who knew her well. Not just a serial killer out there.
I could easily be wrong so it’s important to toss out all and every thought we have.

IIRC, there was (like for most of our theories!) dissent among us here on WS re: extent of suspicion on DM and co in Audrey's case. Some folks pointed out testimony in the Bosma case that the gang wasn't active in vehicle theft until 2011 (can we know that to be true??); another quoted testimony from the trial from MS who indicated they would walk in areas and "write down" potential addresses for later break-ins..... Maybe they followed Audrey's camaro home and then returned -? I'm pretty sure I recall that one poster commented that if AG had a secure system (like OnStar, as you say, NSU; might that actually have been you, posting? o_O) then maybe the theft was foiled but sadly Audrey had already confronted them.....

I agree that there may be better theories on the perp/s than this, but I wish LE would comment explicitly on whether DM and gang have been/are considered in this case, and whether evidence/alibi/reasoning may rule them out (or keep them in) for consideration.

"He [Smich] and Millard met in 2006 and within a few years were going on nighttime ‘missions’ to steal cars and other vehicles, for excitement rather than profit, often burning the evidence at the side of the road."

OnStar would not have prevented the murder but it would have recorded times the vehicle was used. IF someone could have used OnStar, the system would have alerted police and GM to trouble going on. I always thought of it as my safety. For health issues as well as car trouble. OnStar knows your location constantly. You are able to speak to someone and ask for help.

Do we know if AG had snow tires on her car? If so, did she drive her car to and from the service people or did they pick the car up and bring it back?

I’m trying to figure out how many people knew where she lived.

Why was AG murdered in the garage and not inside her home? How did the garage door get closed after the murder? Who opened the garage door in the first place?

  • #1,057
Time of death? AG was found wearing a coat over daytime clothing. Can we rule out the murder happening during what we’d call « bedtime « ?

I don't think so, since nobody knows what AG wore to bed, nor if she could've quickly pulled on her pants before answering the interior garage door?

Yes, very true. But how did the killer get into the garage in the first place. And AG was a night owl so she could have been dressed at any hour. Was the killer waiting inside the garage when AG entered the garage from the house? If so, how?

There is a key thing we’re all missing here.

As of what we know at this point, in my opinion only, everything speaks of Audrey knowing her killer.
