the uncle of a woman missing for over two years now, waits for information to be released by police about a mysterious crime scene at a homeless encampment in Barrie and the investigation which has now stretched beyond two weeks.
Barrie police have yet to disclose any information about the criminal investigation.

Clare Moore, 59, the uncle of Autumn Shaganash — the Barrie woman missing since June 10, 2023 — believes the site contains his niece’s remains.

When asked if the investigations are linked to the disappearance of Shaganash, Leon (police) said there is “nothing to suggest anything of that type whatsoever.”

Interesting, her Uncle said the family searched this encampment when she went missing. Maybe she hadn’t arrived at it yet? Or maybe it was too late.
I understand LE securing the property, but am baffled why they are still guarding the location? Maybe they are worried the campers will return and place is a health hazard, but thought that might be responsibility of city. Does this mean they are holding incase of further info?
If Autumn was alive, I honestly think she would have contacted family by now.

Barrie police say Autumn Shaganash, an Indigenous woman who went missing in Barrie over a year ago, was possibly sighted in North Bay last month. Though police are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information that may lead to her whereabouts, Shaganash's family is also taking their own measures to find her. CBC's Talia Ricci has more.

I hope LE has questioned the accused regarding Autumn, and not passed it off as only two bodies being murdered. If she was a victim of crime, it very well could be tied to this encampment. The last visual of her was very close to this place. Her family also believe there is a connection Autumn family belief.
