To KW - This makes it appear as if the “frivolous” cousins lawsuit was filed mainly for your personal benefit. I’m curious where all the money went or have you since repaid the estate?

BBM
Family feud erupts around Apotex founder
“The cousins have acknowledged in court filings that Mr. Sherman, 64, gave them money. Mr. Winter received as much as $15,000 a month and Dana's widow has been given money to support her two children, according to court filings. However, they have alleged that Mr. Sherman used the money to control them. In court filings, Mr. Winter said his monthly payments dropped to $2,000 a month after the relatives filed a suit against Royal Trust Co. last year.

In his lawsuit, Mr. Sherman alleges that Mr. Winter, 45, signed a promissory note last November agreeing to repay $7.9-million on demand. Mr. Winter had borrowed the money over the years to finance a home renovation business and purchase several properties, according to family members. Mr. Sherman is seeking repayment of the promissory note, plus interest, as well as possession of a house in Fenelon Falls, Ont.

Court filings show that Mr. Sherman sent Mr. Winter a letter demanding repayment about a week before the cousins filed their lawsuit.

"It's simply to protect my interests," Mr. Sherman said yesterday. "I've got to realize on the security. But the value of it is far less than I've lent him."

As for Dana's widow, Julia, he said: "I'm not going to give her any more money obviously."

Mr. Sherman expressed frustration at the cousins for pursuing the legal action.

"Their hope is that somehow they'll get some money out of me even though there is no cause of action," he said. "It's disgusting. It is disgusting. It's bizarre."

He added that he has no intention of settling the case and that he has a long track record of helping others.

"I help all kinds of people because I know I'm very successful and I feel an obligation to help friends, family and strangers too. Anybody I can. Who, even amongst wealthy people would spend countless millions of dollars trying to help cousins make a living? For nothing in return?"

Then he added: "I've done all I can. It's got to come to an end now."….”

Medical cannabis has been legal in a number of countries for years, including Canada since 2001. It difficult to imagine how that could be connected to the murders.

I’ve always been surprised this person makes it seem like it was a new thing, but perhaps he was just using Barry’s name to hype Canntrust, which more recently has now become essentially bankrupt, a result of illegally growing unapproved pot.
“I think Barry decided Apotex better get in on the ground level,” said Aubrey Dan, a businessman who is involved in the project but was once a Sherman rival in the generic drug world. “Barry was a true entrepreneur. He has always been a risk taker.”

Health Canada approval is estimated to be two years away, but if it comes, the pills would be a disrupter in the Big Pharma brand-name drug world, and for Sherman’s own generic firm, providing an alternative to highly addictive opioids and other pharmaceuticals. People who worked with the late Sherman say the so-called “pot pill” will be one of his greatest legacies.
Barry Sherman was helping to develop ‘pot pill’ for medical marijuana users

The billions of dollars on the world market for medical cannabis matter. This field has seen exponential growth since the murders of Barry and Honey Sherman. Certain strains of medical cannabis oil are in high demand around the world. Israel has become a world leader in this field in recent years, through consolidations, mergers and acquisitions.

Teva makes first foray into medical cannabis sector, with new distribution deal

This is not about one relatively small fish in a small pond, but about the big fish in the very big pond, IMO.

I can appreciate that but I really doubt any single scientist works in such sole isolation that killing just that one person would put an end to whatever project might’ve been the focus, to the point it would’ve been entirely shut down.

Also since I dk if anyone else posted it, u can fake the date/time on an iPhone photo. All u have to do is go into your settings and change date/time to that of your choosing, much like dr Emmett brown, and take your photo. Then go and set your date and time to automatic and voila!

I know the prevailing theory is money, but what if it was someone who owed money TO the shermans? In their twisted mind, off BS=debt goes away?

We know of a number of individuals who owed BS a significant amount of money, or borrowed or received a significant amount of money from him. Frankly IMO many of the "generally discussed" suspects fit into that category....
What we don't know, except in a few cases, is what the required; agreed to; or court ordered repayment conditions were.

I know you can do that, but I am not sure if the underlying software in the photo app actually records the correct time, irrespective of what time is on the phone. I know it records the location, and this info can be accessed.
I assume LE has long ago confirmed that JS was where he said he was at the time he said he was when he took the photo. The cell tower data available to LE would confirm this.

Regarding the crypto coins JS was telling BS about and wondering if BS might have quietly invested in it too.
If so, maybe the perp/s were looking for the code? speculation, imo.

I don't think so because of the staging of bodies. And more .

If you enjoy Gray Hughes, he is covering this case tonight. 1/2/2022

I think it would be more likely to result in a revenge motive murder including staging m/s to reflect negatively on Barry than a killer intending to hasten an inheritance.

Since the $10,000,000.00 reward is still available, I wonder if Black Cube or a similar company, with similar resources and expertise, would get involved. I am sure that the money available would certainly be appealing.

It certainly would be a feather in the cap of any group, organization or individual, in the security or similar field, could solve the case, or even identify the night walker.

Do we have any updates on tips since the Nite Walker was posted?

A number of threads ago there was discussion about a private investigator or investigation firm that jS evidently hired to assist him in investigating the murder. IIRC this individual/group was ex Israeli military or intelligence, I recall trying to look him up online. I think I recall they were operating out of New York. Does anyone recall if this person or group was Black Cube?

You’re probably remembering this -

“Jonathon Sherman has hired retired Toronto police inspector Doug Grady to uncover who was responsible for killing his parents, billionaire philanthropists Honey and Barry Sherman, CBC News has learned…..

……As the Toronto Star first reported last month, Sherman also turned to an international legal and investigations firm called Confidential Global Investigations.

The company, based in New York City, has partner offices in England, Israel, China, Dubai and South Africa.

Sources told CBC News that Confidential Global Investigations is providing legal support and a review of the evidence gathered by the initial private investigation, which includes the results of the private autopsies done on the Shermans' bodies, a forensic crime scene analysis and interviews with potential witnesses.

The sources say little new information has been uncovered by the U.S. firm and Grady — at least nothing that Toronto police haven't already found themselves….”

I do not recall any name mentioned.

It is also my understanding that there might be several groups or organizations that have military or intelligence people as staffers, either Israeli or from other countries. After the fall of Apartheid in South Africa, there were a number of specialists who lost their government jobs, and went private.

As well, many trained people in these fields enter private employment after their government tenure, as the private sector income is vastly superior to what they received in government. I also believe by it's nature, employment in these fields are relatively fluid, where an individual might be in the employ of different private organizations over a period of time.

In 2007 the lawsuits started between the the cousins and Barry. In Donovan’s book he said in the late 1980s/ early 1990s Barry started funding Kerry and his brothers, and Kerry said for him that went on for ‘15 years’ (per the Fifth Estate interview).

(1990–2005 for the sake of argument). A year prior to filing the lawsuit Kerry and his children went to the Apotex Christmas party (so, December, 2006?) per KD’s book. They’re on good terms at that point.

Then Kerry was invited to the Sherman home to discuss (a kitchen renovation, according to a witness) and was confronted mainly by Honey about where the money was going.

(At around the 15:00 minute mark.)

That confrontation would have happened in 2006, imo. The Shermans had lived at Old Colony since 1991–so this happened at Old Colony unless they still owned the Beaverhall home.

I looked for more information and a Sherman family friend also believes you were in the home around that time.

“Homicide detectives likely asked him if he has ever been inside the 12,000-square-foot mansion where Honey and Barry Sherman were found slain. A friend of the Shermans said he will tell police that Winter was asked by Barry to go to the house more than a dozen years ago to look at the kitchen, which he was hoping to renovate.

Winter says this is not true. “I have never stepped foot inside of 50 Old Colony Road,” he insists.”

The one below is more recent, but after the murders didn’t all the children have private security? (It was back in 2018, I think.)

“Jonathon Sherman has hired retired Toronto police inspector Doug Grady to uncover who was responsible for killing his parents, billionaire philanthropists Honey and Barry Sherman, CBC News has learned.

Grady is a former unit commander with the Toronto Police Service who once led its homicide squad. He's also worked in the intelligence and organized crime units. He retired in February 2011.”

Barry and Honey Sherman: The first 48 hours are crucial in a homicide. The police acted like they were in no rush
''A. D.’s job was to watch all the monitors in the control room and look for anything odd or unusual.''

''D had been helpful several years earlier in capturing the “fruit thief,” an Apotex employee from the pill production line who had briefly dated the Shermans’ youngest daughter and, after they broke up, was believed to have been stealing sandwiches and fruit from the executive suite refrigerator. It seemed the man had become used to using the refrigerator when he was close to the family. He was caught on a security camera and was fired.''

''[That first weekend after the deaths] D noticed people he had never seen before in the parking lot around the Apotex headquarters. They were men, some scruffy-looking, in teams of two, sometimes leaning on a car in the parking lot. Whenever a senior executive left the building, the men would get in their car and follow.

The men were part of a large security team employed by an Israeli company recommended by Bank Hapoalim, the Israeli bank Apotex used. With the Shermans dead, the four trustees Barry Sherman had left in charge of his estate decided that there was a risk of violence and had hired a team of men who at one time had guarded Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

They were not armed but had experience in self-defence and martial arts and used a sophisticated communication system to keep in touch. Beginning that weekend, the four heirs — Lauren, Jonathon, Alex and Kaelen — and others, including trustees and senior Apotex executives, had an application called Octopus installed on their phones. If any of them needed help, they only had to touch the app, which would alert a quick-response team, in addition to the bodyguards assigned to them.''
