Or she doesn't bother cleaning the pool room since (IIRC) it was reported at one point that the pool was rarely used.
Especially with the house for sale, likely the Shermans were trying to keep as much of it as possible pristine. The realtor may have notified the housekeeper and cleaners to prepare the lived-in areas for the showing.

I wonder if there has ever been a case on WS before where a person of interest to the investigation signs up as a member.

I can't see why the realtor would notify the housekeeper to prepare for a showing, when she could/should have contacted the owner, unless the realtor knew of a reason why the owner couldn't be contacted?

corrected to change housekeeper to 'realtor'

Yes there has. In the Audrey Gleave case. Probably many more.

I have no idea, but I read (in an earlier post) that although Mr. Sherman was a workaholic, his missing work on Friday did not cause anyone to follow up. Depending on their weekend routine, I imagine it could have been quite some time. This whole scenario is sad.
Interesting point, because Barry had not shown up at the office on the Thursday, and then again on the Friday - although as I understand it, he would come in late anyway, so perhaps on the second day of his absence people would have started checking in, but it wasn't late enough in the day yet, by the time they were found?

Without wishing to derail the discussion of the case at hand, did it hamper discussion? Was the POI/member found guilty?

No, didn't hamper. And no... no 'suspects' as of yet, let alone arrests and verdicts.

I've just looked it up and seen it remains unsolved but this paragraph in the article I opened caught my eye -

In an article titled "The Staged Crime Scene," a New York City homicide investigator wrote that the most common type of homicide staging is trying to make the death appear accidental or a suicide..

Who killed Audrey Gleave?

Yes, it is believed that her death was staged as well.

Interestingly, in that case, there were several months lost due to LE 'tunnel vision' (imho). They went for the most easy answer, rather than investigating *every* aspect and *then* coming to a conclusion. In those several months, who knows how much was lost - people forget, or their memories aren't as clear, surrounding dates and etc. It seems LE failed to question people who had contacted them with tips.. likely because the tips did not coincide with their theory at the time. I think tunnel vision is a way bigger problem than anyone is willing to admit. imo.

Ah yes, but the realtor wasn't able to contact the owners, IIRC this was stated in various news sources. Since HS was soon leaving for vacation, I expect plans had been made for the realtor to arrange things directly.

Yes. Dee Dee Moore who murdered Abraham Shakespeare, the lottery winner. She was convicted after more or less admitting to it on Websleuths.

Don't know.. because the housekeeper only came in a couple of times per week... or every two-weeks, I forget if it said biweekly or semi weekly? It would be weird to think a realtor would have authority to bring in the housekeeper for unscheduled cleaning sessions.. at least while H was in town? Also, I believe I read that the realtor had been unable to contact the owner about an 'open house'.. but who knows.. we're going by very limited, and possibly inaccurate media reports.

I'm pretty sure there was one in the murder of Francesca Matus and Drew Devoursney, but the person disguised their identity. Still, the postings seemed to me very obvious, and were trying to pin the crime on someone the suspect was known to be feuding with. The suspect had been arrested and then released, but I don't know whether they were completely ruled out, the case remains unsolved.

To me, it's quite possible an innocent person would sign on to try to save their reputation, though doing it deceitfully isn't a good sign.

It seems KW became absent from WS prior to Greenspan’s press conference, when the family announced the 10 million dollar reward.

Maybe Andreww knows why?
Likely because he got tired of preaching what he believes to be the truth to a bunch of people who will obviously never buy what he is selling?

andreww I'm not picking on you and I appreciate your participation and perspectives. But ... you allege that TPS are liars, along with the hired private investigators, the 'Greenspin' lawyer, the forensic pathologist, the family, the politicians and civil servants.. and you don't take any of their words at face value, but yet you state as fact, without reservation, these things that KW has said - even though KW also has an inherent interest in advancing his own particular narrative AND has *publicly admitted* that he lied and embellished. Not to undermine KW, but jeez, just because he said so, is a reason for another to state it as fact? Drug addicts *have* been known to 'fall off the wagon', and people *have* been known to lie. How is it possible to state unequivocally the actions of someone other than yourself?
Quite simply, everybody lies. You might not believe it, but politicians, police, and media lie or embellish every day. We know that somebody on the Greenspan team leaked information about the coroner's findings, but Greenspan goes on the news and says nobody on his team would do that, and if he found out they did, he'd dismiss them. Ya right.
