I read this too. One of them believes that "the main issue may lie with the higher-ups..."
Lengthy article, VERY GRAPHIC.

I am reading here for the first time that BM owned a property north of Belleville. Do we know if LE has searched this property? Or is this a typo and they are referring to the friend's Madoc property that was searched and released.

Wait. First time I’ve seen this article. I usually ignore the Sun. But that was a wild read. Explains the cannibalism ring the police said they investigated but it was false. Not that this story is better. Is there anywhere else that has written about this?

The neighbour, who spoke to Global News anonymously, said that his 14-year-old daughter used to babysit children at the home in the Thornton and Taunton roads area and that she was forbidden from going into the basement and in the garage.
He said he also told investigators that one morning in the late 1990s, before the McArthurs sold the home, he noticed a large rock had been placed on the front lawn — despite the fact that there was no other landscaping work done on the lawn. The rock remains there to this day.
I hadn't read about this before. Sorry, if it's been posted before. Do we know if LE has searched BM's Oshawa home?

There is a brief metion of it here, but not much detail.

Toxicology tests can be run usually but they are far less accurate. Depending on the state of the body they might have to submit liver, brain or muscle tissue. They can test hair and bone, in theory, but its expensive and not many labs do it. Unless it's absolutely pertinent to cause of death or a criminal case, most MEs won't test hair or bone.
Could one assume, given this is a criminal case with multiple victims, that forensics would explore all/any types of testing; regardless of cost?

IMO, toxicology testing is also data collection that could establish any commonalities across all victims AND in reviewing sudden death cases. Example, a particular drug that incapacitates (could explain how BM could overpower/control victims); or another drug that could cause death but presented as cardiac or respiratory arrest
IMO, for example, should data collection/analysis show that a high percentage of victims showed the same substance that could present as cardiac/respiratory arrest it could explain LE's interest in investigating sudden death cases that were not previously considered suspicious and now could be under review for any connection to BM
The soil found in household gardens is usually neutral and not appropriate to support the growth of acidic plants. However, the acidity of the soil can be manipulated in a more controlled area such as a planter box. But, even if a killer purposely buried human remains in the most acidic soil, Fairgrieve said, theyd have to consistently drown it in water and it would still take several years for the bones to decompose.

Sit on your hands, darlin, that's what I do to keep from going time out or banned for life.
Police allegedly caught the landscaper, 66, with a hog-tied victim on his bed in January and have since charged him with six counts of first-degree murder after finding the remains of dismembered victims stashed in planters at a house where he stored work equipment.
Project Houston target and accused serial killer share sickening similarities
I think this is the first I've seen this. It was reported earlier that the victim was handcuffed to the bed. Wonder if this is the TO SUN is sensationalizing?
