Crown attorney Michael Cantlon said one package of disclosure has been made to McArthur's defence lawyers, with disclosure sometimes in excess of 10,000 pages due to the complexity of the case.

McArthur appeared via video link at College Park court, dressed in an orange jumpsuit and orange t-shirt, his posture slumped forward and eyes looking to the side of the camera. He addressed the court twice, once to state his name and to thank the judge at the end of the brief appearance. A jail guard stood in the doorway of the brightly lit video room.

McArthur's next appearance is scheduled for April 11.

I live in the area of oshawa near his old house. I'd like to make a few observations.

1. The rock is not something you casually pick up and throw in your car. it is a good size boulder and likely is a 2 person job to lift/move.
2. The road is busy during the day but not at night
3. There is a parkette across the road that butts onto creek greenspace
4. Also across the road and just north of the house (and somewhat concerning to me) is vacant land. There are a couple of dog walker trails through it but for the most part is has always been an overgrown somewhat hilly piece of land that also butts creek greenspace and a golf course. BM activity could have possible happened there (yet somewhat risky). Many people in the neighbourhood used to use it as a garden waste dumping ground.

So... if anything shows up from this part of the timeline, LE may need to expand their search a little.

There was a show about Serial Killers with two retired FBI agents, brothers, on The Agenda tonight.

It repeats at 5am for those who can PRV or tape it. Worth watching IMO

Only caught snippets but they seemed to think BM would have been at his peak between late 20s and mid forties, age wise.

Those are the years, I believe, when he was a travelling salesman across central/northern Ontario.

This could/will take years to sort out but they emphasized that all of the police forces need to be on some data program that cross references lost and missing people and there was discussion about how to NOT become a victim of a serial killer. Very interesting.

TVO may also run videos after the screening date, not sure.
Thank you, it's also on YouTube:

Does anyone know where McArthur lived in the 1970's from the time he graduated up until when he moved to Oshawa?

The McArthurs were among the local families of good pedigree. His parents, Islay and Malcolm ‘Mac’ McArthur, farmed and ran a kind of foster centre out of their home. Mary Anne MacEachern, a friend of the family who visited regularly during the 1960s and early ’70s, said parents from Toronto often sent their troubled children to the McArthur house to get them away from the trappings of city life.
It was at Fenelon Falls that McArthur met and began dating Janice Campbell, according to one woman who knew them both. Their graduation photos appear pages apart in the Fenelon Falls yearbook for 1969-70.
The young couple left the area not long after graduation. But they were back often in the mid 1970s visiting McArthur’s parents, who both fell ill and died relatively young, one not long after the other.

In the 1970s it’s believed Bruce McArthur — now living in Oshawa — worked at Eaton’s. During this time they had two children

Re: the rock and garden at his prior residence... If we are dealing with dismemberment, it could have been much easier to hide remains there... Also, anyone from that area know if there is a shed or anything on the property?

Re: Suicide attempt. I was speaking with a social worker at the facility McArthur is being held yesterday. He is actually on her case list. She confirmed that BA did actually try and swallow his glasses, but they did not consider it to be a real suicide attempt, more for attention than anything. This is the second employee of the facility that has told me it did happen.

I also think he was getting sloppy. Leaving a car too close to a house he used to store his supplies. Putting them in planters that could be traced back to him easily. if somebody decided to move and scrapped those planters 4 months or something later, they'd be potentially found. I actually think the planter idea was stupid. Too many houses are being bought and resold and then torn down and rebuilt so quick these days, the risk goes way up. He had access to rural areas and excuses to be out there. There is far less chance they would ever be found in an area like Madoc which he traveled to as frequently as every other day. He got sloppy.

I am curious to know, are you aware of if he has had interaction with the general population at the facility and if so, has there been any conflict with those who match the general description of his victims? Also, I am aware that the guards in charge of Bernardo's supervision have (from what I have heard from an individual close to one of the guards) have made things a little more difficult for him, are you aware if this is the case with BM?

As long as he's on suicide watch he will be isolated. Remember, he's on remand, not found guilty of anything yet.

Thanks, I did see that. I'm hoping to find the exact address he lived at from the time he moved from Fenelon Falls after graduation up until he bought the house in Oshawa. I've looked everywhere with no luck.

Spend some time going through Library Archives. Might find it there.

Sorry, but ALL social workers are bound by privacy laws to treat such sensitive information as confidential. She can get fired for talking about this! BM is still a private citizen.

I don't know if you are part of this group, but this admin allows people to suggest that Andrew Kinsman was BM's accomplice and bans people who argue with the people saying so. She loves the power of adminning that group and doesn't care at all about the victims. She is also okay with people posting homophobic and racist comments. That group made me very thankful for this forum. I expect this will be deleted but I was one of the people she removed, for telling people it's very hurtful to Andrew's friends to see people saying that. She did not ban the people who are spreading this rumour, only people who asked them not to make up such lies.
