I haven't followed the trial but I remember when news broke last year and LE began digging.
My in-laws live in the same area of Ottawa.
Glad he is going to prison for a long time

This case is a great example of why people should take 3 steps back, turn, and run like hell when they see the signs of sociopathy in a person (like lying and lack of empathy). Too many people say things like "yeah, he's an ECCENTRIC, but would never harm anyone". And they don't, right up until they do. And that's pretty danged predictable.

Hint: if they lie pathologically and can not feel empathy, RUN RUN RUN. And warn everyone else on your way out.

He killed the neighbour because he coveted her apartment!

''She had lived in the same apartment building as Cleroux and he killed her after coveting her bigger apartment with a better view.

Leclair refused to share her apartment with him so he took her to Fairlea woods in May 2010 where he forced her into a shallow grave he had dug ahead of time, stabbed her and bashed her in the head with a rock.

Her son, concerned that he hadn’t heard from her, went to the apartment and saw her things and furniture missing. Cleroux told the son that his mother had gone on a trip and left the apartment to him.''
