yep, that one too.
The police would not comment on the "dangerous" part as "it is going to court" which is a total cop-out - pun not intended lol

It was specifically stated that the charges were for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and/or injury. Of course there could be other charges laid later but after three months of having their feet held to the fire, the RCMP have at least come up with this. I'm sure they had to have all their i's dotted and t's crossed in case someone comes up with some super-lawyer and gets the case thrown out on a technicality.16 charges dangerous driving causing death, 13 charges dangerous driving causing bodily injury. LE said the act was enough to place the Dangerous driving charge and not just a traffic charge.
My pure speculation - drunk or texting.
It's a catch-all that can include anything, like distraction, not stopping, proceeding when unsafe, etc.Okay so what did he do that was 'dangerous operation'?
I can't find a mugshot of this guy. Does Canada do mugshots and, if so, do they release them?
yep, that one too.

Driver of trailer in Humboldt Broncos crash facing 29 criminal charges
Jaskirat Sidhu, 29, was arrested Friday morning without incident at his residence in Calgary. He is expected to appear next week in Saskatchewan court.
According to Williams, the maximum sentence for dangerous driving causing death is 14 years, while the maximum for dangerous driving causing injury is 10 years.
I’m sure he will be held in protective custody as well.
Did anyone catch when his first appearance will be?
After reading the definition that's what I think too - speeding, running stop sign, crossing into the intersection when it wasn't safe. One or a combination of things like that. They've been careful to get the reconstruction just right to put it all together.I don’t think he was drinking as I think he would have been arrested right away. I think texting or something. Or maybe doing a whole bunch of unsafe things. After the presser cp24 had a lawyer I believe speaking on their channel and was suggested things like , missing numerous stop signs, speeding, aggressive driving and a few other things that he said we can all do as an accident but if you do them all in a drive becomes on purpose. I wish I could find everything he said.
you can not compare a 2 vehicle accident to an intentional, planned event of mass destruction,
one is an accident, the other is planned, and intentional, completely different........good try though
because it's already safe as it is......history has proven that......
i will use very conservative numbers here, actual numbers are probably much higher,
lets say an average of 30 vehicles pass through this intersection per hour, so one vehicle every two minutes that would be 720 vehicles in a 24 hour period or per day,
720 x 365 days = 262,800 vehicles per year
262,800 x 20 years = 5,256,000
so that means 5,256,000 vehicles pass through the intersection in 20 years (again, conservative numbers)
there have been two accidents there in the past 20 years so we now divide that number by 2 = 2,628,000
so that means there is one accident for every 2,628,000 vehicles that pass through the intersection
the odds of being struck by a bolt of lightning are 1 in 960,000
so that means you are OVER 2.5 TIMES MORE LIKELY to be struck by lightning then you are to be in an accident while driving a vehicle through this intersection,
that seems pretty damn safe to me!!
yep, that one too.
The police would not comment on the "dangerous" part as "it is going to court" which is a total cop-out - pun not intended lol

Okay so what did he do that was 'dangerous operation'?
How do you know missing the stop sign is the only thing he did? Has he made a statement?that is what they are going to have a very difficult time proving in court.....missing a stop sign is not "dangerous operation"
police can charge anybody they want with a crime.....but actually proving it in court is an entirely different story,
this will be a very interesting court case
