Found Safe Canada - CB, 3, may be in Monteregie, last seen 11am near Newman Blvd, LaSalle borough, Montreal QC, 14 Jun 2025

“Day 4: Search for CB continues as mother returns to Valleyfield court
Wednesday’s search effort will see about 150 SQ officers reinforced by civilians trained in rough terrain searches. The Association québécoise des bénévoles en recherche et sauvetage is regularly called upon by the SQ to aid in searches in wooded and otherwise hostile environments. SQ officers were seen searching just off the shoulder on Highway 30 early Wednesday. Four officers were on foot and walked in the grass, combing for any signs of the missing toddler. The command post near the souvenir store in Coteau-du-Lac, where the mother reported her young daughter as missing, remained in place Wednesday morning. A large police truck was seen on site and police officers were visible from Highway 20.”

Ah yes, it is likely the civilian operations I am seeing in the area this morning.

They are looking for a woman who lives on a farm either in the Montérégie region or in Ontario, speaks English and French, and was wearing an apron with the word “Abondance” on it. Police say this woman met the missing girl’s mother on Sunday, between 9:45 a.m. when the girl was last seen in LaSalle, and 3:30 p.m. when the mother reported the child missing.

hmmm. This is an interesting development. I hope this mystery woman is real, not some psychotic delusion,, and can be located.

You would think that this woman would have come forward by now.

There are many roadside farm kiosks in the area selling plants and strawberries right now. It is very possible that the woman with the apron would not recognize the mother especially if the child was not with her. She seems to wear dark glasses quite often from her Tiktok videos. It is a rural area and without newspapers anymore, there are older people who are not up to date with internet news or social media. It has been covered on the evening news locally but only a 1-2 minute clip. Just speculating.

To add to your post - odd they don’t know where the meeting took place.

Police say the witness lives on a farm, speaks English and French, and was wearing an apron with the word “Abondance,” in French, written on it. That meeting could have happened in Montérégie or in Ontario, authorities say.”

Absolute best case scenario - mom handed little one over to this person with some story - running from an abusive ex, coming right back for her, etc - I'd love to think little one is somewhere safe.
The odd thing is the authorities don’t know if the meeting took place in Ontario or Quebec. Sounds like maybe they obtained the information from the mom. Like the rest of the story, she can’t remember?

Agreed re: hoping this is a real lead, rather than some kind of delusion or story shared by CB’s mother.

I do wonder what the threshold must be for the police to believe that this lead is worthy of being shared with the public- hard to say if they would welcome any kind of lead or clue at this point (i.e. all news is good news/all info is good info), or if they would require some kind of corroborating evidence to back this up before putting it out to the media.

Unless she was on the autoroute, there are many side roads which do not clearly define the border between Ontario and Quebec around here. The fact she was speaking to someone on a farm suggests she was not driving on the autoroute but could have stopped at a roadside kiosk on a secondary road or highway. Also her recollection of signs such as St. Polycarpe is suggestive she was west of where she reported her daughter missing at some point and on a secondary road.

It is a very confusing path but maybe not surprising if her recollection of events is poor. I can see why law enforcement may be having difficulty narrowing down the search area.

even if they disbelieve it, due diligence I would think, would have them share it, even if it came from mom. At the very least they will maybe be able to prove or disprove the alleged encounter.

Maybe I just don’t want to see another child passing this week/weeks/months but I’m sticking with hope that this was some kind of pass off.

While her recent video could have been mental health related it also might have just been a - know what you’re doing and F off kind of video (custody visitation anything). And the plan was to hide her with family. She left her phone/device knowing they would see the search. Maybe purposeful?

I know a reach but just hoping we don’t see another bad ending

Or - mom said she saw the lady when she was taking Claire somewhere but she doesn’t know where and they are using that to identify her path and location? Is that maybe the direction
I don’t think it’s just seeing her - the fact that they’re sharing that the woman spoke English and French and lives on a farm would suggest that the mom either spoke to her directly or was around her long enough to hear her speak to other people.

"Rachel Todd, 34, appeared briefly by video conference, wearing a red shirt and a grey blanket over her shoulder. She appeared aware, but mostly nodded as the judge explained she will be appearing in person at the Valleyfield courthouse for a bail hearing Wednesday. She simply nodded the entire time, her hair falling out of an updo. She stood close to the screen."

I'm catching up so might have missed any updates or other comments.

Sounds like she's not pleading for someone to bring her baby back... not sure she could while in court but she doesn't sound hysterical to want to look for her child.

I am also surprised, sounds like she hasn't broke yet if she left the child somewhere. This isn't looking good at all. Will catch up with rest of the thread when I have time. Really want that little girl found!

I hope it's not another case of "Zannie the Nanny" like from Casey Anthony....

I truly hope this woman exists and was given the child in haste and there is hope here!!

Yes I agree with this. Just professing “out loud” I guess and you’re def right
