Considering that the mother abandoned the dog in the highway where it was hit, CB may have been there by the road throughout.

What a terror, and what a relief that she is safe.
Dog was found 60 miles from where the girl was found. That is what threw off the search area. They were looking in the proximity of where dog was found.

For those of us not familiar with the area, could someone figure out the distance between where she was reported missing and the place she was located?
Thanks in advance!
Circle is area she was found and X where fog was found. Distance between Casselman and the BEM store where she was reported missing was about 60 miles.

"I'm waiting for my mom. She told me to wait for her."
Those are the first words CB told the officers who found her.
Ugh. Poor little thing will have no idea why this has happened to her, will probably want mom and be really confused/upset about her not being around.

poor baby girl ... three days ... alone, no food, no water
I wonder if she told them anything about what happened to the little doggo

Apparently the mother and child were seen in Casselman, the nearest town to Saint-Albert.

I am relieved but heartbroken. People elsewhere have said that the mother's logic, of telling their child to hide in a field away from danger, does make sense in a psychosis.

I am so sorry for CB. I am also sad for her mother, when she comes to her senses and exits this state and realizes what she did.

I don’t think I’ve ever been more thrilled about the outcome of a case after feeling so heartsinkingly certain about how it was going to turn out. How wonderful that she has been found safe! I really hope the best for her mom, that she can heal and come out the other side of this and be a good and loving parent to her daughter. Maybe somehow through everything she was going through her maternal instinct kicked in and she did whatever she did to keep her safe. JMO

According to this article, CB’s mother left her in a ditch along the busy 417 highway and told her to wait for her. She even drove past her to make sure that she couldn’t be seen from the road. It’s only today that CB started walking along the road, shortly before they found her.

Not only is this area so close to the busy 417 where vehicles routinely do 120-130km/h but it is also close to an active railway crossing.

I am stunned at this little survivor

Anyone hear when and where the press conference is going to happen? All the articles I have read say later today but it is 9 pm eastern time now.

This is why I’m sharing it here. I’m bilingual, so I can translate.
Me too I can translate. I moved from Ottawa and haven’t been using my French much lately. But, my reading comprehension is great if anyone needs any translations.

Do you buy that story? I have fasted for four days without food and water and it was extremely difficult. And it was an outside fast in a lean-to in very warm weather. I don’t know about a three year old.

Throughout following this case, the one shred of hope I’ve held out is remembering a case of another 3yo I followed here who was found relatively fine after 3 (?) nights out in the elements (in harsher weather IIRC) - 3-Year-Old Missing for 3 Days Found 'Alive and Well' in Canadian Forest: 'It's a Great Feeling'

Obviously this is not the same, but there are certainly some rare examples of young kiddos surviving for multiple nights.
