Why? Because of fiddleheads? I’ve googled, but can’t figure it out.
From what I can gather, it seems this garden centre announced a 'drive-thru' sale.. 2 plants for $40.. a re-run of an idea that started last year when they had to quickly dispose of a bunch of plants but couldn't be open for business. This year seems different, because it seems garden centres are still allowed to remain open in Ontario, even though we're under 'lockdown', but it still inspired all those people to go for a drive on the Saturday and wait in a car line for 90 minutes to get their Boston Ferns! They're planning on doing it again next year, but say they will get traffic assistance and police to assist.

I heard something on the TV news the other evening about how campsites are all booked up in the provincial parks, and that people are re-selling them.. kind of how you used to be able to scalp concert tickets.. crazy! It said the govt would be issuing big fines for that type of thing, and they'd be opening up more campsites for reservations. Here is one article about it, but not sure if it says the same things as what I heard on TVNews. It all starts with the May two four weekend.. my bet is that they won't be opening it up by then. Any takers?

d,
I was so distracted with daydreams of strawberry hanging baskets,
Two Four dreams of glazed back bacon on a bun and fireworks,
that I just now realized that the spreader event, Mothers Day is
upcoming, May 9.

“Struggling to keep up with Toronto's third wave, city paramedics say they're having to 'triage' cardiac arrest patients”

[...]

“What sticks out the most are the ages — and a lack of comorbidities — of those going into the back of his ambulance.”

“Waves one and two were elderly people,” he said.

“Now we’re averaging late 40s.”

[...]

“What irks him and his co-workers most are those who dismiss COVID as a bad flu.

“Influenza doesn’t make your O2 (oxygen) saturation drop below your age,” he said.

“We’re seeing patients with oxygen levels not seen without opioids in play, and neither Narcan nor oxygen are going to fix it.”

Emergency rooms and ICUs are full, he said — with many receiving care in the ER normally seen in intensive care.

“That’s what overcapacity means,” he said.

“It means that there’s people in emerge receiving ICU treatment — and that’s not the place for it.””

Low oxygen supply forces Toronto hospital to transfer COVID-19 patients | National Post
''TORONTO — A Toronto hospital says it transferred a number of COVID-19 patients and cancelled some surgeries today after its supply of oxygen ran low.

A vice-president at Michael Garron Hospital says staff identified the risk early today because of a high volume of patients with the virus requiring oxygen.''

''Ontario’s hospitals continue to deal with record-high admissions and patient numbers in intensive care during the third wave of the pandemic.

The province says today that 2,248 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, 884 are in intensive care, and 620 are on a ventilator.''
