Saskatchewan is putting lives at risk by getting into a situation where it is necessary to send people to Ontario, where needed surgeries and procedures have been put on hold so hospitals can use their resources to care for covid patients.

Yes, Ontario wants to be available to help out. That is good. But this is the post-vaccine period and help should no longer be required.

We won’t be going back to the Before Times for quite some time.

The vaccines do not eradicate COVID, only offer decreased morbidity/mortality for most people.

Until/unless COVID burns itself out by going through the unvaccinated population, we will have to remain vigilant and hermit like. IMO. MOO

I just had my annual influenza vaccine. The paperwork had a question: have you had any other vaccines in the last 4-6 weeks.

I had my flu shot on Saturday and was not asked that question.

Different provinces collecting different information perhaps?

I went to a Rexall Pharmacy and was only asked the usual COVID symptom questions.

What I, and perhaps more people, easily forget is that the incubation period for covid is 10-14 days. I almost think of it as a common cold where incubation seems more like 72 hours. I sometimes forget that if I've been compromised, I need to think 10 days from now to see how I feel.

This new Delta variant is something like 10% more virulent than the original Delta variant, which was what, something like 30% more virulent than the Covid alpha strain?

I wonder whether the incubation period for the delta variant is shorter than the first covid strain. Instead of 7-10 days, maybe 3?

It's good that they've found a new direction, but at the same time it leaves me wondering whether they entered health care to impose their believes on patients, and whether they adhered to science and medicine knowledge at any time during their roles in nursing and patient care.
