I'm still living like a hermit too for the most part. The only people I've been close to are family members who are vaccinated.

Glad to see I’m not alone in the Hermit lifestyle. :)

I hate how the media skews things.

From the article linked:
Global News asked every provincial and territorial college or medical council whether they’ve received complaints about doctors denying care to unvaccinated patients. Here are their responses:
  • New Brunswick: “Less than 5.”
  • Nova Scotia: “1 or 2.”
  • British Columbia: Zero formal complaints, but have heard concerns from patients.
  • Alberta: Does not track this data.
  • Quebec: Cannot disclose.
  • Manitoba: Cannot disclose.
  • Saskatchewan: Cannot disclose.
  • Prince Edward Island: Cannot disclose.
  • Ontario: 68 complaints and concerns in the last 3 months (includes complaints about unavailability of in-person care, not necessarily due to vaccination status.)
  • Newfoundland and Labrador: No comment.
  • Northwest Territories: Zero complaints
  • Yukon Medical Council: Zero complaints.

This man should be on posters across the country for stupidity regarding covid. If his claim to fame is denying science, then his lasting memory should be the consequences of that claim.

"Parhar reported feeling ill with a variety of symptoms, including fatigue, chills and a cough, which he said was “not CONVID (sic) because CONVID (sic) doesn’t exist.”

Parhar said he was feeling somewhat better and had recently taken Ivermectin, an anti-parasite drug widely touted in the anti-vaccine community ...

Mak Parhar, the New Westminster man who gained online notoriety for his outspoken denial that COVID-19 exists, has died."

The COD hasn't been released yet. I wonder how much Ivermectin he took?? Either way, it's disregarding science and medical advice. Why take Ivermectin if 'Convid' (sic) doesn't exist in the first place? It's easy to imagine that he may have failed to understand the difference in dosages for humans vs cows, as this fellow still believed the earth is flat. Why would the police have been called by paramedics for assistance - did he live in a rural area or something?

From the linked article above:
New Westminster police confirmed they were called to help paramedics at a home in the Sapperton neighbourhood Thursday morning, but arrived to find Parkhar deceased.

The cause of death has not been determined and will be investigated by the BC Coroners Service.

From the article linked below:

One of the biggest dangers of human Ivermectin ingestion is how easily a person can overdose, said Vearrier and Jenna Davis, a family nurse practitioner and the Poison Control Center’s managing director.

“People are buying a livestock medication intended for an animal five to 10 times their weight,” Davis said. “Generally it’s safe for animals, but depending on the dose you take, it could potentially lead to side effects that could cause death.”
....
People don’t understand that with all prescriptions, the dose matters,” Vearrier said. “People are buying formulations of Ivermectin that you’d use for a 1,200-pound cow or horse, compared to a 120-pound human. That’s a big difference.”

Are we hoping that covid has gone away - that only the unvaccinated will get sick, only older adults will die (going to die soon anyway)?

I'm wondering whether opening up Canadian borders for 72 hour shoppers, and other cross border tourism, will lead to that 5th wave that the Alberta government is mentioning.

In reality, the lock-down, shut-down, work-from-home, pandemic started on March 13 2020 in North America. It is now November 18 2021. That's 20 months.

The 1918 pandemic lasted from February 1918 until April 1920 : 26 months. Three waves, limited air travel (WW1).

Provincial lock-downs manage overwhelmed health care services. The World Health Organization, whose responsibility it is to prevent deadly virus from spreading around the world, was somehow compromised by tourism between January and March 2020.

I hope we don't have a fifth or third or another deadly wave. There's discussion about annual influenza vaccination delay and worry that influenza will bind with covid into that antibiotic resistant super spreader bug that doctors mentioned in the 1980s?

Imagine a world that is facing a pandemic deadlier than the current covid delta variant; a variant that adapts faster to hosting in us, one that combines with seasonal influenza?

If the 1918 pandemic disappeared after 26 months, we're looking at May 2022 for the end of the 2020 pandemic - hopefully the end will be as unexpected and significant as April 1920.

Of course, that's sounds like science fiction, but remember that a pandemic sounded like science fiction in November 2019.

Health Canada will approve the Pfizer vaccine for kids Friday, sources say

In another step forward in the COVID-19 pandemic, the approval of the Pfizer vaccine for five-to-11-year-olds will be announced by Health Canada on Friday, according to multiple sources who were not authorized to speak publicly.

A delivery of about three million doses is expected in the coming days, enough for a first dose for every eligible Canadian child. An exact timeline is hard to discern, but public officials have said that needles could go into arms before the end of the month.
....
Ontario’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Kieran Moore, told an Ottawa radio station Wednesday the interval between the two doses will be eight weeks, matching the recommendation for adults, instead of the American recommendation of three weeks.

But the American trials indicated that even a first dose provoked a strong immune response in children: a 91.4 per cent efficacy against infection over a period of months with children who were back in school, and other congregate settings, such as sports and after-school activities.

I called my local Rexall to enquire about the third shot and it’s super easy to register.

I had had my flu shot there, so all the information was in the computer.

You are put onto a Wait List until you are eligible, then they send you a link from which you choose a date/time.

Any age can register, when it’s your time, they’ll email you.

Hope it’s as easy at all other pharmacies.

They only have Pfizer shots.

I went to a walk in clinic for my third, without an appointment and everything went as smooth as silk. I think that there is a general lull in the number of vaccinations that are being given out right now, so timing was good.

Did Health Canada approve the kid's vaccine? I didn't see anything about it in the news.

Yep, kiddies will be done as soon as they gear up for them.

Pfizer has a kiddie dose ready to go.

I know you’re not in TO, no walk ins without appointments around here. lol

I’m going to correct myself here, ergo quoting my own post.

There are some Shoppers Pharmacies who are taking walk ins for COVID shots in Toronto and surrounding area.

One had a two hour lineup and another had no waiting.

So, it’s the same as before, get on the phone til you find what suits you.

Bah humbug!
