I think this is relevant cause it highlights possible supply chain issues.

An Ontario mother says she was angry to learn that someone had stolen medical baby formula meant for her daughter, who has a rare kidney disease, from the family’s front porch.

Rita said there is only one supplier of the formula in Canada, and he is in British Columbia. The supplier, in turn, gets the product shipped from Germany.

“That shipment that we got is supposed to last two weeks and it took two weeks to get it.”

I am not sure that ALL provinces are partnering yet, but Shoppers Drug Mart in partnership with Maple has a 24/7 virtual healthcare clinic to connect with Canadian doctors online . It's currently free and you can sign up with your provincial healthcare number to be covered after April 10. (I am in BC and it defaults with my location to sign up with my BC Medical Services Plan.)

Now Available - Consult with a doctor online - March 16 to April 20, 2020

A relative of mine has used Maple before from his smartphone and he says it is very simple. I think you need a web cam for the visit; my PC doesn't have a web cam but I will order one from Amazon).

Premier doesn't want to cause 'panic' by releasing province's COVID-19 models
April 1, 2020 3:55PM EDT
''The premier of Ontario says he is hesitant to release numbers tracking the potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, fearing the province’s modelling could cause “panic.”

“Those models can drastically change. If we underestimate on one side and we overestimate on the other, it could create a panic if we overestimate,” he said during his daily COVID-19 update at Queen’s Park on Wednesday.

“Our message is very clear. We are going through some turbulent waters over the next few weeks and we need to do everything we can to make sure that people self-isolate.”

“The hard truth is, right now, today, there is very little separating what we will face here in Ontario from the devastation we’ve seen in Italy and Spain. Thousands of lives are at stake,” Ford said.

“The actions we take today, what we do as a government and as a people today, will determine what we face tomorrow… The next two weeks will be absolutely critical because we know a surge is coming.”

Nearly 100 Canadians remain on cruise ship where four died in COVID-19 outbreak

François-Philippe Champagne, Canada’s minister of foreign affairs, thanked his counterpart in Panama for assistance in arranging special passage through the canal that links the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, Global Affairs Canada (GAC) said.

“We are aware of 247 Canadian passengers and one Canadian crew member on the MS Zaandam cruise ship,” GAC said. None of the dead were Canadian. “We continue to engage with the passengers and Holland America regarding these ships.”

The Zaandam’s cruise was originally scheduled to end in Fort Lauderdale, Fla, on April 7 before being interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Just to lighten the mood. My spouse works where I used to work years ago. He is in training and development but because its travel insurance he is taking live calls from customers as well as they are so busy.
He is home and we haven’t set his office up. (I’m really busy being laid off doing nothing!)
So I feel every call he is on im back at the company doing QA on his calls.
I’m actually coaching him.
God help us.
One of us is going to snap. Lol. Joking. I hope.
My mission is to convert my sons old room to the office this week.

British Columbia:

B.C. adding $300 to monthly income and disability assistance payments

‘Crisis supplement’ for COVID-19 for April, May and June

People who receive income assistance and disability assistance payments in B.C. and don’t qualify for federal emergency aid will receive an additional $300 for the next three months, starting with cheques being issued April 22.

[...]

The B.C. “COVID-19 crisis supplement” also applies to low-income seniors who receive the B.C. Seniors Supplement or a comfort allowance for those in special care. That payment, which has been $49 a month for about 250,000 people, will increase to $300 for April, May and June, Simpson said.

The press, worldwide, is happy to print the news to fit their opinion. IMO they print half truths, or conveniently leave out information just to sow seeds of discord and to keep citizens in an uproar. I have to remind myself in today's events, that what I read is not necessarily what was said, only their interpretation. I will not let news make me distrustful of other countries, or other states because that means that people behind the news win.

MOO only MOO

This is not just media spin or opinion. I watched PM Trudeau speak to the issue in his daily presser on national tv this morning.

Canada facing ‘major’ medical gear shortage as 68 countries restrict exports
''Scores of countries have moved to restrict the export of face masks, gloves and other medical supplies critical for front-line workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving Canada and others scrambling to source products that now have higher price tags.

Sixty-eight countries — Canada is not among them — have curbed exports of personal protective equipment or medicine, according to Simon Evenett, a professor of international trade at Switzerland’s University of St. Gallen.

He called the policies “inhumane” and a potential “death sentence” for some of the world’s most vulnerable patients.''

“Countries which use (the restrictions) are essentially grabbing a small number of supplies for the moment and denying sick people in other countries the possibility of treatment,” he said, highlighting France and India as hoarders. “If you think that this is going to have a happy legacy for international relations, think again.”
