I found this article informative. If I understand correctly people who are vaccinated may be compared to people who are asymptomatic who can pass the virus to others. It's still an unknown factor.

This strikes me as quite unfortunate news in the sense that a vaccine may not prevent the virus from continuing to spread through populations. Additionally, there hasn't been enough time to determine how long the vaccine is effective. If it wears off after a year, and the first round of people need another vaccination while others have not yet received the first - disaster.
