My 28 year old nephew had fever on Friday, he had test on Friday, he had less fever but dry raw throat on Saturday, test results tomorrow, mandatory self isolation for 2 weeks after tests. I feel like I dodged a bullet, as I had plans to see him - casual masking with family - on Friday afternoon. Had he been one day later with the fever, I would have had direct exposure ... if he's sick, that is. He might be perfectly healthy with allergy symptoms.
NE Calgary has the highest incidence of infection in the province because the community culture has been to be casual with masks around family and friends. When the Premier of Alberta commended the NE community for their sharing openness, but they had to wear masks, he was called a racist.
Hopefully Calgary and Alberta will be able to handle the hospital overload that is predicted if people aren't more careful. There's talk about field hospitals and triaging which patients receive treatment based on best likely outcomes.
