No socks or shoes, and a logging road in northern Ontario, no less. Sounds like WC may have ditched his long-term squeeze with the hopes that he'd never make it out alive. Also, with him being on the #11 route heading west, I wonder if he was thinking he could make it across the US border at International Falls. I wonder what kind of personal documentation he might have with him.

If he didn't cross the border, and depending on when he ditched DL, he just might be in Calgary or points west by now.

they spotted a man walking barefoot on the trail.

Garon said when he stopped to see if the man needed help, he noticed his face was full of scratches and he was disheveled

I wonder what happened to him....no shoes????

My best guess is that Cunningham was driving and LeBlanc was asleep. Then LeBlanc woke up and needed to wee-pee so Cunningham stopped and let him out, kept driving and then couldn't remember where he left him. Probably scratched hisself up coming out of the bushes to chase the car Cunningham was driving.

Sounds like he had been in the bushes for awhile .. wonder if he was chained and managed to break free.

These are two bad dudes and my tolerance level is zero for what they are alleged to have done to the 16 year old boy. Couple that with the other charges against LeBlanc for assault against a 2 year old and a four year old boy, the stay in the bushes is sort of poetic justice in my opinion.

If it wasn't so sad about the victims in this case, I'd be laughing.

I suppose the humane thing to do was to call for help and they had no other choice but to give him emergency care.

I'd leave him there chained to a tree for a few more days.

More info in this article about Leblanc's arrest and where he was with some statements from some locals.

http://thechronicleherald.ca/novasc...s-kidnapping-assault-case-arrested-in-ontario

He appeared via video link Monday in court in Thunder Bay. He was remanded into custody for six days and will be returned to Nova Scotia, said Brendan Crawley, a spokesman for Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General.

I hope once he is returned to NS he will continue to be behind bars.

Wonder why they think he's headed for Calgary? Is that what he told his bestest friend before he dumped him ?

Or maybe they'll give him a recycled bracelet.

apparently there is a waiting list....popular thing these days!

That would make more sense but then again, I would've thought for sure they'd be in Montreal or Ottawa. They ended up in Thunder Bay.

Yes new bracelets are on back order. Recycled ones might be available as we speak. Is that freak from Thailand wearing one. Maybe they can share.

I think chaining them all in one cell would make a heck of a lot more sense then these stupid bracelets.

I hope all our long distance truckers have a bolo out on the vehicle.

Bridgewater to Thunder Bay would be 36 hrs straight driving (they may have taken turns). That could have put them into the Thunder Bay area sometime Friday evening. Leaving Ontario, it's clear sailing through the prairies to Calgary in a day, so if he was pumped and driving non-stop, he could easily have arrived in Calgary by Saturday night. If he heard that LE is onto his Calgary destination and decided to continue west, he could be into BC by now (about 12 hrs from Calgary to Vancouver). The prime spot for LE to watch for him there would be in Hope, BC where all 3 major routes converge before continuing on the #1 into the Lower Mainland and on into Vancouver.

I suppose there's always the possibility that he might try to cross at one of the unmanned border crossings. I don't know if they have drones at all the Canada-US ones now.

ETA: All the above info should be advanced by one day because the victim escaped Monday September 24th NOT Tuesday September 25th. Sorry for any confusion

OMG nasty!! I just looked at the Craigslist postings for the area he was found just in case that's why Cunningham drove off and left his pal, maybe he had a date. Yuk, won't look there again.

I have to wonder if they were both hitchhiking and ditched the car long ago, by the sounds of it they didn't have enough money to get very far. I would think gas would cost a fortune to even go as far as they did. Unless someone is helping them out of course.

This story has been on the headlines with description of the car and plate #. Not one report of it being seen. I have a feeling they ditched it somewhere and hitched!

Real happy to hear this. One pig down, another to go.

These really are the worst of the worst, these types. I have no doubt they would have killed the poor boy. After weeks of torture.

It's so horrific it's almost too hard to follow the thread. Creeps me out.

Yes and cant help but wonder if there are other Victims deceased. And will we ever know.
