This article has nothing to do with Eugene Kim, but everything to do with a missing person case with a happy ending.
Wishing for a similar outcome for Eugene and his family.

‘Let’s go home’: Missing Saint John woman found safe in France
A missing persons case that lasted almost a year and spanned thousands of kilometres has concluded with a happy ending.

The family of Saint John native Shannon Sullivan have spent the past several months trying to track her down after she mysteriously left her home and job in Toronto.

Earlier this month, their search finally came to an end when two police officers in the south of France spotted Shannon on Nov. 5.
Sullivan says there are parts of Shannon’s story that the family still hasn’t been told.

He says maybe eventually she’ll be ready to share publicly what happened over the past several months, but that it will be her decision to do so or not.

[h=2]Pleas for information replaces birthday wishes[/h]
At a time when Eugene Kim's family should be celebrating, they're instead pleading to the public for any information they may have about their loved one's whereabouts.

Kim's turned 39 today.
“We keep praying for his safe return. If anyone remembers seeing him in the North Bay Area, please have them come forward,” said his family in a statement to The Nugget.

“People just don't disappear. It's been very frustrating because there has been absolutely no information.”

Kim's family had hoped Ministry of Transportation surveillance on Highway 11 near South River would have provided some information, but they said police needed a warrant and there is no reason to obtain one at this time.

The family also contacted the LCBO along Highway 11 about surveillance, however they were told it belongs to the MTO.
Police and his family are concerned for his well-being and are asking anyone with information, to please contact investigators right away.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext.7241, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-tips, or leave an anonymous tip online at www.1800222tips.com or text your tip to CRIMES (274637) starting with the word YORK.

The fact that he lied about his whereabouts and when he would be home, it's pretty obvious he was up to something unfavorable. Maybe not illegal, but maybe illegal... I'm on the fence between it being a crime or an affair.

I heard rumors that it was a gambling debt.. and he owed a lot to Hell's Angels or a gang...
I hope he's alive and just needs to work out the debt

Can’t believe there are no updates on this case at all...

It reinforces my belief that he may have left voluntarily whether it be for a deal gone wrong, suicide, or leaving his current life.

The only mystery I am wondering about is the car.

Let's entertain the scenario of him fleeing his current life....
1) Did he change his appearance? Shave his head? Dye his hair?
2) Did he find something like a car garage and leave his Nissan there and remove the plates, and flee in another car? or on foot? Could explain the bizarre disappearance of his vehicle too. If we are told we are looking for a certain person who looks a certain way, if he's changed his appearance, it can potentially throw us off as well.
3) There would have to be some kind of fingerprint he'd leave by way of obtaining money, changing money over, needing a passport to cross the border

So there are a lot of gaps there.

The suicide theory is still quite a valid theory, but I'm stumped at the complete and utter disappearance of the vehicle. But he could have definitely have still hid the vehicle somewhere, removed the plates...etc..etc.. as above.

But I'm banking that he's not alive. That's still a strong hunch for me, and this was completely voluntary.

JMO.

It is not that cut and dry. Here in the GTA (general Toronto area) there a lot of people that going missing daily. The fact that Eugene got so much media attention as compared to others who have gone missing was probably due to his family having connections to media. The fact that it has gone quiet is because the media will not keep up that level of news on one missing person's case unless new developments arise. It is not his family keeping quiet. On the Facebook page "Help us find Eugene Kim", there are still photo updates of him and they are still thanking people for their concern and help and informing people that there are no new developments. If they knew where he was, they would probably take down the Facebook page and not engage people.

Thanks...I have not seen the facebook page to see if it being updated or even if it is still active.

I was looking at the map of the general vicinity of Algonquin Park, and there are an awful lot of lakes. I often go this way, but sadly, I feel as though the Rogue is likely in one of them.

Yesterday I was caught staring at a man who I thought might have been Eugene. I was really embarrassed, but I didn't let myself look away until I knew for sure. It was not him, as the person I was looking at was too young and his eyes weren't an exact match.

If Eugene ran in effort to spare his family from some type of trouble he had gotten in to, he could be out there somewhere. Until his vehicle or he himself is found, I don't think we should lose all hope.

I hope TPS reads this! CHECK THE ALGONQUIN LAKES! ***PLEASE***!!

I have visions of urban police officers being sent out in snowshoes and on snowmobiles to randomly look for him, most of them getting lost/hypothermic in the process. Meanwhile, back in the city, no one's preventing or solving crimes, they're all up in the northern wilds, looking for a man who voluntarily disappeared.

It's painful for the family, but I'm afraid no one can help them at this point. Perhaps something will be found in the summer, when people are back out camping in the area.
