Updates: A number of women from Toronto have come forward and pressed charges against Nygard for forcible confinement:

"Sources say Nygard faces nine counts in total, involving six women, one of whom was a minor at the time of the alleged assault. The charges, which were laid on Wednesday, include six of sexual assault and three of forcible confinement.
All of the alleged assaults took place in Toronto between the mid-1980s and the mid-2000s."

"Winnipeg Police Chief Danny Smyth said in a statement that their recent investigation involved working 15 files, interviewing 29 witnesses, including survivors, and compiling more than 1,600 documents.
In the end, eight cases were submitted to Manitoba's Justice Ministry for consideration. According to Smyth, prosecutors decided not to lay charges in all of the cases."
Some things: What was the difference between the Toronto cases and the Winnipeg cases?
At least Nygard looks incredibly frail and creepy, like an old vampire who hasn't fed in awhile (how true though).
I feel terrible for the women who came forward in Winnipeg only to be turned down. While I can only imagine how invalidating that must be, I hope they know they're not alone in their inability to achieve justice through our legal system. I'm saying this personally as someone who has also experienced this exact same thing.
I don't understand why charges cannot be laid in some of these cases? Collectively, they all corroborate each other. Wouldn't some of these women be able to identify and recognize each other as victims??
This man truly IS a vampire. He has fed off the lives of countless women, never changing or being held up to the light and revealed as the monster he is.
He's disgusting too. He's greasy, dressed in ridiculous full fur length coats and his stringy long yellow hair. It's laughable.
One thing I don't fully understand, the class action lawsuit against him. Is this going to become like that fund created for victims of Epstein? Because as wrong as this might sound, here we go... Why do these women from this lawsuit, why do their stories count when so many others do not? How did these women manage to gather together? When a number of them, grown women, repeatedly returned to Nygard Cay knowing from past experience, still went and accepted money in exchange afterwards.
I am aware that Nygard absolutely victimized people, don't get me wrong. He also manipulated and violated a number of very young women. He preyed, terrorized, threatened and ruined peoples lives. However, it's the women who had repeatedly attended this place knowing full well what Nygard was doing and were participating, I don't understand how these particular women are victims.
I don't mean Nygards' accomplices, I mean women who attended these parties repeatedly, who brought friends. Women who went for the botox and free cocktails.
I just don't think it's right that there's an entire group of victims who are trying to sue Nygard meanwhile there are others who can't even get a charge laid.
Not to mention these human traffic and sexual assault charges are taking a backseat to the "more pressing" issues of racketeering and bribing government officials.
He looks so frail I doubt he'll live to see the end of all these charges as a free man. I guess that's justice?
