Poor Finnigan. :( For his family's sake (and for the community's peace of mind), I hope this was just a tragic accident.

His body was found near Sullivan Lane. Is that where the family home is as well?

Very close. I would say it was within several hundred meters of his home. ( 200 yards for our American friends).

ETA: I believe Finn's family lived on Trudy, right near the corner of Ann St. His body seems to have been found on Sullivan, not far south of Ann St.

What the heck?? What could have happened?

CP 24 live at 7:00 pm: Neighbours interviewed remarking that the area where Finnigan was found was extensively searched (more than 100 volunteers searching). Police on horseback and K9s searched the area. Shocked neighbours saying they don't know how he could have been missed.

Finnigan found less than 150 meters from his front door.

Simple answer: you shouldn't have.
Better answer: because you care about people

Poor young Finn already had a much tougher life than most of us. He didn't deserve this ending.

Likely not related (wrong end of city; wrong sex), but I came across this:

http://www.chch.com/trail-dangers/

Hamilton Police are stepping up enforcement along the city’s trail system after a series of threatening incidents this summer.

There is a trail at the top of Finnigan's little street/lane.

I know he was physically challenged, but with him being very small I'm wondering if he crawled into the metal culvert drain pipe?

So so sad. He was so close to home. I wonder if he crawled in and couldn't get out. It has been EXTREMELY hot here in southern Ontario and very humid. Horrible quite frankly and we are in a drought situation as well. We have barely had a drop of rain all summer so I don't think drowning in the culvert would be on the list of reasons he died. But then again, you never know.

Why did it take so long to get the word out?

Finnigan must have had so many challenges in life and for his life to end so short is tragic. R.I.P Finnigan. All updates are much appreciated.

:( Just saw this on my FB feed and come here to see he's already been found, deceased, in an area where nearly everyone says was already thoroughly searched. I agree, it doesn't make a lot of sense unless he was put there, after the area was searched.

‘It doesn’t make a lot of sense’: Neighbour says of location of where 12-year-year-old Finnigan Danne was found.

She also mentions in the interview her friends and neighbours actually crawled through the pipe with flashlights and did not find anything.

Which makes me believe that he was placed there later.
I wonder if the perpetrator panicked once the Amber Alert was issued.
