Canada: At Least Four Killed in Shooting. Incident Ongoing

At least four people have been killed in a shooting in Canada, police said Friday in a tweet.

The shooting took place in Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick.

CNN network partner CTV, citing police, reported that "the incident is 'ongoing.' "

Seems like suspect in a house

Neighbors outside?

Do not call 911 being advised

Many cops fire trucks being used to block area

Confirmed at this point it is still ongoing

They keep saying at least....killed

David MacCoubrey, who lives in Fredericton, said he woke up in his apartment on Brookside Drive at around 7am local time to the sound of three gunshots 10 metres from his bed.

more than 15 other gunshots were subsequently fired between that time and around 8.30am.

I think domestic it is in a apt complex

Basement window open (that has just been contradicted) another witness described it as he was on top ???

Long gun rifle (whatever they are shotgun etc)

gun out window he was shooting at folks in the courtyard

two cops down - not confirmed

I guess they are saying at least cause they are not sure if anyone was hit inside a unit

kinda strange almost sounds from the way witnesses are talking that he might have shot a couple of people then cops arrived and he shot them

or i suppose those cops could have been going to work

but the initial reports described it starting at around 8 bit than later start was 7

speculation

"Robert DiDiodato lives on Oakland Avenue, which connects to Brookside Drive along the city's north side.

The Fredericton resident said he heard a series of "firecracker" sounds around 7 a.m.

"With the tempo, it might've been a gunshot," he said. "It was sort of like a pop, pop, pop, pop."

About five minutes later, he could hear similar noises near his home.

"Doors are locked and everybody's inside," he said.

Several police, firefighters and paramedics remain at the scene.

On Twitter, Horizon Health Network said Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital is on high alert, and is prepared to receive any victims and help the community in any way needed.

Premier Brian Gallant also tweeted, "We are all shocked and saddened to learn this morning of the ongoing tragic incident in Fredericton."

This is absolutely horrible. By early reports I’m reminded of another shooting in New Brunswick that occured not so long ago, tragically 3 RCMP members lost their lives.
