Found Deceased Canada - Frank Young, 5, Last seen @ Playground, Red Earth Cree Nation, Saskatchewan, 19 April 2022

Had to do Facebook sleuthing to find out answer to who was watching him. Not a lot of info out there, hope more details come out in the media so we can talk about it.

Mods, there's a post on the official Facebook page for the community that references the local radio station that has a post about who Frank's parents are and who was watching him. Because it's posts of posts I'm erring on the side of caution and not linking it, but since it's a Facebook page ran by the local government is it a safe source? The rules say LE and MSM Facebook pages are allowed but nothing about government/administration.
I think you can post the radio station's post. Go from there. IMO

The search initially focused on the area around the home where Frank was last seen and a playground where he may have been spotted at around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Thursday the search expanded to areas further out.

Tonge said the aerial search has extended five kilometres outside of the community.

An RCMP recovery dive team that arrived in the community on Thursday has also found no sign of the boy.

Boats equipped with sonar have also looked for signs of the boy in a river that runs through the community but have found none.

Parents of missing 5-year-old Sask. boy 'totally devastated' but grateful to search crews, says chief | CBC News
''The parents of a missing five-year-old boy are "totally devastated," but are grateful for all of the people involved in the search, says a First Nations leader.
Frank Young was last seen Tuesday at his home on the Red Earth Cree Nation, located approximately 300 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.

Young's parents are not comfortable speaking publicly, but Chief Marcel Head of the nearby Shoal Lake Cree Nation said they want people to know the help is appreciated.

"They're just totally devastated, but they are appreciative of all the support, the counselling," Head said during a news conference Friday afternoon.''

''Since Frank was last seen wearing a blue jacket, RCMP say they kept a special watch for blue objects. They found several, such as a blue drink container, but nothing that helped them locate Frank.''

I came on here to make a thread about this case but I’m happy to see there’s already a thread! You guys are great!

I thought they would find him by now, a victim of the snow storm Saskatchewan had this past Tuesday. But, still nothing! I hope they find him!

I don't understand what it means that Frank may have "possibly" been spotted at a playground. Spotted by whom? Reports say he was last seen playing in the McKay's front yard. Are officials saying he may have wandered out of their yard and over to a playground then disappeared?

Any news on why the parents don't have custody of the boy? I'm not ready to start jumping to conclusions, just curious. Until then my heart goes out to Frank's family.

Frank was last seen playing at home and possibly spotted at a playground. Could it be that he may not have willingly wandered away? Considering they're not finding any evidence of Frank in all the searches, at what point will LE investigate the possibility that he was abducted? I hope besides physical searches LE are viewing any/all CCTV footage from area homes and businesses. MOO

I'll keep praying they find little Frank safe and sound.

It’s obvious that we still don’t have all the answers to the family situation of this little boy. Truthfully, this case feels a bit reminiscent of the Tamra Keepness case from 2004.

This little boy has to be somewhere!

Oh no, how can he still be missing? His case reminds me of Summer W.'s (surrounded by forest)- it's taking too long and no clues about what actually happened. :(

Day 8 of search: Hope remains that missing Saskatchewan boy is still alive | TheRecord.com
''Chief Fabian Head of the Red Earth Cree Nation, 300 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon, says the search will not stop until Frank Young is found.

We won’t give up hope,” Head said at a news conference Tuesday.
In recent days, the search has become more complex as annual spring runoff has made the Carrot River rise several metres, stalling search efforts by boat, he said.

Sgt. Richard Tonge of the Carrot River RCMP detachment said he doesn’t know if Frank is alive, but search teams have not given up hope.

“Previous searches show us humans can be incredibly resilient, and that is why our efforts continue, and we’re doing everything we possibly can to find Frank,” Tonge said.

“We will do everything we can to find him alive.”

Family last saw Frank about noon on April 19 outside his aunt and uncle’s home where he was living. Family members began looking for him about 30 minutes later.''

The Red Earth Cree Nation community and surrounding rural area has been searched as part of ongoing efforts.
Search for 5-year-old Frank Young continues, Carrot River RCMP continue to ask public for information on his whereabouts | Royal Canadian Mounted Police

The timeline and sightings continue to be a bit confusing to me. According to the RCMP report Frank was playing in his front yard at 12:30 then maybe seen on the playground two hours later.

Were the aunt and uncle searching during that time?

I still worry about nearby water. If he wasn’t abducted then he has to be within what, a 5 or 6 mile radius? And if he was abducted then who would do so? Frustrating.
