The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest made in a Criminal Harassment investigation.
It is alleged that:
on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 11:59 a.m., a 43-year-old woman with three young girls were walking home in the Queen Street East and Jones Avenue area
- a man started to follow them while staring at the young girls
- the woman entered a nearby school yard to get away from the man
- the man fled the area when the woman used her cell phone to call a friend
- It has been further reported that:
on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 8:55 a.m., a woman was walking her dog in the Queen Street East and Caroline Avenue area
- A man began to follow her closely while staring at her
- The man fled the area when she spoke to a nearby construction worker
on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 5:36 p.m., a woman was walking her dog in the Queen Street East and Pape Avenue area
- a man followed the woman into her condo vestibule
- the woman was able to fob into her building quickly and close the door behind her, stopping the man from entering
- the man fled the area when the woman used her cell phone to call a friend
Jama Korshel, 34, of Toronto, was arrested on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.
He is charged with:
- five counts of Criminal Harassment
He attended court on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at College Park Courts, at 9:30 a.m., in room 507.
