My guess is that the suspect is a male whom she had been involved with. Could be wrong, though...

The police missing persons statement says she was last seen at Huntingwood & Kennedy, which is a 15 minute drive from Eglinton Avenue East, where her friends indicate they dropped her off. I wonder how she was seen at Huntingwood & Kennedy? Surveillance cameras? Was she seen inside the Scarborough Inn?

later it was said:
last seen late afternoon on friday in the company of friends when she was dropped off at her place of business in scarborough

The murderer *probably* is not Kai-Guo Huang (aka Yo Chen) as Toronto Police Service Fugitive Squad arrested Huang on August 10, 2012 (doesn't say what time) -- unless they picked him up later that evening. I was just reading on CBC that the male who check into that motel room at 3:30 am stayed for only one hour. I don't know what to make of that...

I was just reading on CBC that the male who check into that motel room at 3:30 am stayed for only one hour. I don't know what to make of that...

Well there are few things I think of....

one being a shower.
two being...well the business (they used the words advertised as a spa) is defunct/closed.

all LE said in the press conference today is that neither Ms. Liu nor her business were "known" to police prior to her disappearance. I know that doesn't answer anything....

I honestly wasn't getting at anything. I was just confused about the spa being closed down and then they say she was seen at her place of business. Did she go back to the spa to get some of her belongings or did she start a job somewhere else?

I thought during the press conference Inspector George Koekkoek hesitated a wee bit when he mentioned her business had been a spa. Just my observation.

Perhaps she went there to meet someone? If the perp was someone she knew, it would be easy for her to say "meet me at my old business", if it was a convenient location for both of them.

I agree that the one-hour room rental is highly suspicious....
Did LE say the Scarborough remains had been resting for 7-9 days, or was that a reference to the Mississauga findings? I didn't hear, and the timeline for placing the Scarborough remains, particularly in relation to the hotel rental, seems critically important to me
