Meanwhile, police are also investigating after remains were found in east Toronto, but it has not been confirmed whether those remains are human.

Wow. There's been speculation that a serial killer is on the loose in the Toronto area with all these young girls missing. I'm wondering if the perp kept them in a secluded area and now started disposing of their remains.

I'm wondering if this newest killer is really an older killer from the Sonia Varaschin case which was never solved. I'm wondering if he had an 'infatuation' with another killer and mimicked that other killer's MO with Sonia. Now, after we had the Montreal dismemberment killer, I wonder if his 'infatuation' has now shifted to that MO in killing.

Just a thought..........:moo:

There just seems far too many unsolved killings of females in Southern Ontario for my understanding. I mean, can there truly be an individual killer/one killer for each of these unsolved cases? To me, that's unlikely. I'll put my money on one serial killer in the entire lot of 'recent' unsolveds in Southern Ontario. If it's one guy PER killing, we're looking at many, many killers residing and ACTIVE in Southern Ontario. What's the likelihood of that being the case?

Now, let's just catch him...........:what:

I really hope these parts have all come from the same person. How gruesome. A hacksaw?!? Is anyone able to tell me how far it is from where the hands/foot/head were found and where the leg was found?

You know, when I hear about the proximity to an overpass - it makes me think of Miriam Maknishvalli...

Nevermind, I just read that it's 50 km. I sure hope LE have been in contact with Canada Post and schools in the area...

I sure wouldn't want a job like that but someone has to do it.

I hear ya! But at least this is their job. I'm wondering how well the people do after FINDING the remains in the first place.

Whoa! A Toronto Star reporter found a plastic bag with remains in it at the Toronto site ( still not known if related to the Credit River remains).

Here is his report and it sounds like they are human remains although unconfirmed until the coroner states it. EDIT: the remains ARE human.

Star reporter makes grisly discovery in Scarborough creek

It appeared to have something in it. Garbage, most likely, I thought.

I looked around for a stick and poked a hole in the end of it. What I saw made me sick.

I saw bone, I saw skin, and I saw fatty tissue.

The smell was worse.

I know that smell. It’s human. I remember that smell from covering the story of the thousands who died in the earthquake in Turkey in 1999. It was that same smell.

I have a feeling the details of this one will be pretty awful. I just really hope this isn't someone who will do this again.

The Star is now reporting that the body parts are linked to each other from the two sites.

Toronto Now: Remains found in Toronto linked to Mississauga body part

There isn't much of a story yet on this but I will look elsewhere too.

Police in Ontario say human remains found in east Toronto over the weekend have "obvious similarities" to a head, a foot and two hands found in a river in Mississauga, Ont., west of Toronto.

Any other distinguishing marks has not been made public. Sgt. Brandwood said at a press conference on Monday morning that police are close to identifying the victim.

Peel police say dozens of officers are continuing their investigation along the Credit River from Steeles Ave. south to Lake Ontario. Investigators are also moving north from the original scene towards Streetsville.

Police say they are investigating missing persons cases in both Toronto and Mississauga, as well as other jurisdictions
